still love those old Halcyon/Tsukuda kits. that A3 Creature is still the most accurate you can get aside from the maquette. do you do commissions? i usually have some unbuilt kits laying around and most of the pros on here have long waitlists.

Couldn't find the proper thread for this, but I figure it's worth seeing:

That was an awesome commercial!!!!!!!!The kids hair looks like that guy in - no country for old men.Friendo

Wow! I remember that commercial, but I forgot the Alien 'talked'. :lol

Greatest toy EVER!

Yes, it is. I still have one, and it is responsible for my current career of painting for Sideshow. Long story.

Here's the highlights:
Had Kenner toy when 5 yrs old. Scared me. Mom threw it away.

Alien 3 comes out while I'm in high school. I get the Alien craze again and search for the toy.

Meanwhile a model company name Halcyon has recast the toy as a vinyl model kit. They produce several model kits from the franchise. My model building/ painting hobby begins.

I get caught up in the model craze of the 90's. Halcyon, Horizon, Tsukuda, Kaiyodo, etc., etc., etc. My skills develop.

Somewhere in here I find the toy again. Yeah!

My model craze fades when McFarlane makes toys for adults, ie, movie maniacs. Then Sideshow makes the first Freddy and Jason figures. 1/6 has just replaced models in my collecting life, but my skills beg to be used.

I start customizing. I get private commissions. I approach Sideshow.

The rest is history thanks to the Kenner Alien.:slap

That's a great story.

I was big into the garage kits in the early 90's too. Miss painting those up.

My 1/6 collection now mirrors my 1/6 garage kit/model kit collection in its key characters.

Did you ever get the Yellow Pearl Alien? I love that one.
