Not any more.
Not any more.
And neither is Lord of the Rings.
Lord of the Rings is still a Trilogy. Unless I've forgotten a fourth movie.
he is talking about the hobbit movies right?
Yes. With the Hobbit movies being prequels, the Trilogy ceases to be.
Same characters, takes place before LOTR, they are prequels.
Dont really have an opinion about these two films, I do think someone has went a little overboard with the modding however. I had no idea this forum was serious on a level with an astrophysics forum, I guess we all know better now. Sheesh.
Serious flamewars, yeah mod those - but people having fun, I don't see a problem.
You could say that as Star Wars.
Semiotics aside, after december, it's not a trilogy. The story movies into LOTR.
Not a bad thing...it's just what happens.
.....The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are two separate stories. The Star Wars saga is not.You could say that as Star Wars.

The LOTR is and always will be a trilogy. Even the Tolkien Library - lists it as a trilogy.

The Hobbit - even though it will be broken into 3 films, does not make a trilogy, imo, as it is based off of one book and some appendixes.
Most people won't see it that way. But who cares.
