If you have it, there's a good picture in the Star Wars Visual Dictionary.

Thanks, I forgot all about that book. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the "real" Bib. Looks like a publicity pic. I also checked the "Star Wars Chronicles" that I have -- awesome book -- but wouldn't you know it, they don't have one good picture of Bib's outfit.

One thing I'm curious about is why SS chose to have the robe mixed colors? Some sections are very dark brown, a color that looks accurate to the photos I'm finding, while the rest is a slightly lighter brown (basic Jedi robe color). I just don't see this mix in any reference.

I wonder if this was done in China when they realized they didn't have enough of the one material. :lol

No, Chang! I said dark brown! ALL dark brown!

That's the one. I love the "soft-soled shoes for silent movement" written at his feet. :rotfl

Does the darker material seem different in quality/texture to the lighter?

I don't think that's the actor who played him, but I think they used all the original costumes from the Lucas archives.

I was just checking The Art of Return of the Jedi. No photos, but there's some great concept art of Bib.

OK, here's my Bib in water treatment mode. I didn't soak the robe, but rather sprayed it wet with a spray bottle as I shaped the material to have those "waves".

More pictures tomorrow when he dries to see the difference.

It looks and feels like the same material essentially -- like 2 different tones on Jedi robe material. The darker is slightly more "velvety" than the other, but only slightly. Here's a picture where you can see the bottom section and the collar area are darker -- the collar color goes all the way around to create a kind of "shawl" in darker material.

Very cool stuff, Wor-Gar! I predict that Bib Fortuna might be the FUNNIEST 12" star wars figure yet!

OK, Bib is dry. Here's how he came out. I must admit, I think he looked better wet...

The 2 similar shots are just there to show one darker, one lighter. Like the Jedi robes, this one doesn't really hold a shape well. The material looks great wet and you can get good shape to it...but when it dries it tends to stiffen out of some of its shaping. The water-treatment helps alot though, so I advise it to anyone who likes to "futz" their figures. But it may take several 'wet' sessions to really get the cloak to hold its pose. If anyone has others suggestions, I'm all ears...

My Bib has a bad habit of looking upward -- even though I can twist his head around and crook it at an angle, I can't seem to get any play in the forward movement...and he's too top-heavy to bend his chest forward to compensate.

Still, all in all, a great figure. Definitely unique from sculpt to robe to costume. He also has some great hands -- so much so I can't decide which ones I want to use, which is a first.

He's got a nice, Jabba knocking him back for being weak-minded, look in the pics you've posted, you could keep him with Jabba like that and have Jedi Luke standing before them.

First of all, he looks great! Nice futzing.

Now I've never done this before, and it might be a dumb suggestion, but what about putting starch in the water?

Thanks Batty. I've never tried starch in the water, but this robe is stiff as it is, I wouldn't want it more stiff. More flexible is what I need. It needs more 'drape'.

Here's a new pose. What do you think? Its the "Ah-ah-ah, I wouldn't do that if I were you" pose...

But wouldn't starch help it retain the shape of the wet look? I'd ask my wife, but she's not here. And she'd probably laugh at me for asking. :monkey4

I can't wait til Thursday to get mine, I was expecting it Wednesday, but I forgot about New Year's so that bumps out my delivery date a day. I will say this, I love knowing with these shippers, what the delivery time from shipment to my door is on a consistent basis, 6 days for UPS, 7 for FedEx.

Maybe it would, I know nothing of starch. :D

I think, once I find a good pose, I'll just spray him again to help hold the final pose shape. We'll see. First I gotta find a good pose. Any suggestions anyone?

Do you have a 1/6 scale R2-D2?

Yeah, buried somewhere. Hasbro. I'd like to find a pose that is unique to Bib, and gives him the appropriate attitude, and requires no other figure to work off of. For instance, I thought about arms crossed... its not in the movie but it seems like a good pose for him. I'd also like to try that pose when 3-PO says the message is only for Jabba and Bib waves his arms dramatically as if to say "fine!". I'll have to pop in the dvd. But once you commit to him holding the staff, you really only have the one hand left to gesture in that 'Bib manner'.

I actually like the pose Tom had in his first pic. Bib with his hand up like he was talking to Luke.

Do you have the drink serving R2? The one that came with 12" Slave Leia. That would look good next to him too.
