You know, I was thinking about the money they probably spent on these new heads. A mold that size is probably $5,000 easy, and then you have to produce it... even if they did 500, I bet that was a pretty big chunk of money was spent on doing this. I know it was needed because the existing head was bad, and it's taken a while for them to get in our hands... but it's still pretty amazing they are doing this.

PVC head molds aren't even $1k. If they're paying $5k for a mold, no wonder their figure prices are so expensive, they're being taken to the cleaners.

Whatever they are paying, it's pretty nice that they are doing this.

I think it's good business sense in the long term, though, to keep customers happy and to help shift the remaining Amys. She only had a run of 500, so they already reduced her quantities.

Someone said above, they want this figure because they're Who completists. Doctor Who in particular attracts completists and even people who might not want this figure right now might find it niggling them in the future when its hard to get. It would be ironic if this became sought after in the future! Reminds me of the Denys Fisher Leela - no kid wanted it then because it was a female figure but now its one of the hardest in the line to find.

I got the email (well, my dad did) for payment, which has now been made. Not sure if the heads are going to be sent out by return, or in batches. I'd reckon on batches.

So they obviously aren't going in the order of when people first applied for the replacement head.

I didn't know of the head replacement availability till I saw this thread. I contacted my dad who didn't know how to get the number, but my mum had a copy of the PayPal receipt (someone in the family is organized) which has the 4 digit code needed. The reply was within one day of application. As my dad said in his email, and now the waiting begins.

I didn't realize it was a 2 step process. I put in the application and today I got the notice to go order and pay for it. Which I did. US$7.50 for shipping (at today's exchange rate).

Got my notice today, paid it, and then was promptly sent the notice again. Looking forward to it finally getting here so i can take amy out of the box and put her on display.

Still in the box? Oh, poor Amy! Haha. I've had an Indiana Jones hat on mine. It does help a lot. I like the look of the new head with sculpted hair and Indy looks forward to getting his hat back!

I had put an request in long ago - but when they said it would be best to do it using the form, I did that too as soon as it was available.

Both my 4 and 10 were shipped together but the invoice only reflected 10. Perhaps this is the case with your heads. It would be nice if they could let you know one way or the other.

Actually, hasn't it been about a year since we heard about these heads!
