I found that I really liked the look of our new Doctor, after Smith left. I thought we'd get a new Pertwee, as that's who he reminded me (and just about everyone else) of.
I liked the first story, but hated that they had to bring Smith back at the end to 'remind' the audience (let's face it, that's who he was talking to) that this grey haired guy was still him, the Doctor. It demonstrated, to me that there was a lack of faith in this decision.
Then the series started properly, and although there were a couple of good episodes ( not necessarily good Who tho), I felt the season was flat, lacking in any substance. The conclusion was dreadful, and i was disgusted at the treatment of the Master's character becoming female, and snogging the Doctor. At that point, I'd like to punched Moffat (a supposed fan) square in the face.
This is the only season I have not preordered on blu ray as soon as it became available. I actually have no desire to ever watch the season again.

All this said, I do like Capaldi's look, and genuinely believe that he could do the character great justice if he were given decent material to work with.
Part way through the season, I said to my mates, that if I was him, I'd have walked away from the show from embarrassment.

Exactly. I feel bad for Capaldi. He deserves better.

There were episodes where I was honestly just holding my head in my hands. :rotfl It was painful. The time has definitely come for Moffat to hand the reigns over.

Liked everything about the new season and enjoyed Capaldi's performance more than any other doctor so far.
(except the Robin Hood episode....)

The Robin Hood episode was the high point for me. I found that one to a lot of fun.
I sent the BC pic to a friend of mine. He reckons it's not a good likeness. I think it's quite impressive to be honest. The suit looks a bit heavy, but I'm sure it will turn out all right on the night.

lol to each their own :)

I do agree with the suit looking off ....that jacket is really stopping me from ordering. It looks .....bad.

So whats your issue with the Master changing sex? I think It's been touched on in the show that can happen, hasn't it?

I thought she was wonderful myself. :)

What the hell, I placed an order. Paid in full for the mini-Tardis. 11 v2 was better value but I want 12's regular outfit. Of course with my luck they'll change it next season and announce a new feature packed version. Still on the fence for the sixth scale Tardis but I think it could easily double as 12's Tardis now.

I don't have a problem with them changing the Master's sex. I have a problem with anyone but John Simm portraying him now.

Really? Oh dear maybe Who isn't for you then as the shows excels in swopping the actors every now and again. :)

Especially as Simm won't be playing him ever again.

Gender is by far the characteristic that plays the largest role in identity. Gender swapping between regenerations turns the character into a whole other person (even more so than normal) and makes it almost impossible to retain continuity of identity between actors.

I had a look at my BC Who display, and I realised that I don't have many of the accessories out on display.
I know that I swap them around a bit to begin with, then I just settle with what feels, or looks right. Ex, The 10th is holding his black glasses, looking through them at the sonic which is held in the other hand. Everything else is in the box. Likewise, all of my figures.
If I only had one or two figures, I'd be inclined to have all the accessories around, or by them.
With the Capaldi figure. I'll have him holding the sonic, and display the mini TARDIS with a hand sticking out of it, by the base.
