Sorry Raymond, I just wanted to highlight this - is it really the case that the paint is not adhering to the plastic on the head? Because that's a complete deal breaker for me. I've seen that happen on knock off head sculpts and it isn't pretty. Has this been anyone else's experience? It certainly explains the nose rubs.

As for the body, you have to ask why they keep making these **** ups. The impression I get is that there's a lot of talent at BCS, and that comes through sometimes, but no system of internal review or quality control regarding the product. I worked for a publishing company once where everyone sat around saying how brilliant their products were, and sometimes they were. I got out before they went out of business.

Yup Tom, would have to really agree with everything you said here. To answer your question specifically is have to say I think it is indeed true. It’s more of a soft plastic issue but it’s as soft as the QMX heads which aside from staining seem to hold paint better. I would think that if a guy had a dark collar this plastic would stain.

Let’s hope they take proper care with roger Moore

Raymond, you're a tough critic and understandably so as a talented artist. But even through your critique I could tell there was a boyish enthusiasm for the work here. I'm happy you liked Goldfinger and Oddjob as much as you did. Personally, I'm just so thrilled to have them. Never thought we'd get old characters from this 55 year old franchise in this scale at this level. I see your points on Bond. I've made so many Connery customs myself with poor sculpts and my half-assed paintwork that I likely cut way more slack on these than may be warranted. But the only real problem I have with the suit in general is the narrow cut of the shoulders -- which does affect the overall appearance. Of course now you have me eyeballing those eyebrows. :lol

I want more bond figures. Many more... so Keep trying, keep improving and keep the train moving... you will have my money and support but also my vocal criticism (and praise when warranted).

Here, here!

Hope to see you take a picture with all three figures together.

And let's bring on that Live And Let Die preorder already!

I agree with Ray.. the Bond Suit for me is the biggest
disappointment. GF and OJ are absolute winners-
the paint rub.

Ray’s Yunsil/BC Bond look like the winning
combo.

And Bond arrived.

Had a quick look. Nose rub!!!!!!
I’m sorry, but as much as I like the other 2 figures. 2 out of 3 with nose rubs is an apauling statistic.
BC May have offered to replace, but it should never have come to that. Tho, I don’t think they knew of the issue before shipping.

Each head was bagged as well, and through the bag, you can’t see the problem. With no noticeable paint on the inside of the bag, they must have been bagged with the rub. So I would think.

Anyway. I’m now going to have to contact BC and request a new GF and Bond HS.
This is the very first time I’ve had an issue with any figure, and I have over a dozen BC heads !!!

Anyway. I’ll think more of the figure when I get home from the office.

Tried to contact the support from work. Getting an sql error.
Tried my phone and iPad: same problem. And, I finally got through on my office computer!!

I’ve edited the original text. Read very angry!!! I was disappointed, but not angry.

Since then, I’ve got home and really looked the figure over.
I see Connery without a problem. He is, a little tanned though!! Haha (see, not angry).

The suit is a bit of a weak link. Shoulders sit too low, and I can’t raise them squarely enough.
Otherwise, I think he looks great.
Accessories are, like the others , gorgeous, and super detailed.

Stepping back , the nose rubs can’t be seen, but knowing they are there... hmm.

Anyways. All three are in the cabinet (beside my Trek gang), and I think, looking pretty impressive.

All quibbling aside,

James Bond
is
Back
as an Action Figure

It’s about time !!!

Gotta say, Mr Bond May be the weaker of the 3, visually, but he’s a helluva lot of fun.
And hey, it’s a James Bond action figure!!!

To look at it all I'd say they need to create a new body with much better proportions and durability....the tailoring is hit and miss and I think the Connery suit was done in Chinese factory "B" instead of "A"

So you think they knew about the nose rubs and still packaged them up anyway? That would be a dirty tactic.

My through is that they plucked all the ones done already and just wrapped them all. I don’t think they did quality control checks. So it’s more than likey the runs were in place already. Could be just the first editions that have this which are still in stock by the way, which makes me wonder how successful this line will be.

I can't imagine BCS would have, but the factory might have. Their email saying they would replace all nose rub heads seems to be holding the factory responsible between the lines. I think BCS really wanted these out by Christmas and the factory, rushing to meet that deadline, cut some corners and the nose rubs were the result. Whether that was paint that wasn't fully dry or something else, I don't know, but other than the Oddjob statue nose, most of the noses seem to be enough distance away from any surface to have prevented the rubs. That statue head has a nose indent in the plastic cover for the nose, so its no wonder that had a nose rub.

Yup bud you are right there’s no denying my passion for these so with that comes obvious enthusiasm! And my support because it’s not like we were even able to get runs together for good customs of these villains and secondary characters.

And all things considered considering the lisence holder we made our very well.

Even with being starved for so many years on good bond figures and with or without a custom that holds up stellar... it’s not enough for me to go easy on Bond. In fact it’s the opposite. I’m sure big chief tried their best and may not may not be totally happy with the end result but they should not be and they should try extra hard should they make it to the point of releasing the dr. No version.

Their Goldfinger effort is not nearly good enough.

The whole run was 100% QC from start to finish. There is certainly no dirty tactics. Shipping a faulty product only to replace later makes zero sense for any company and quite frankly has no logic I can’t believe that’s even been bought up tbh lol.
Anyway back to the QC each part is obviously made separately. Once completed the factory give us a date for our QC team to look and approve it. The QC team send pics and samples to us for our final sign off. Heads, hands, accessories all plastic parts are made and the QC team sign them off and send proof. The same with the clothes.
There was no nose rubs on the heads when they were finally all put together and boxed up and had another 100% QC check.
The nose rubs have happened in transit. As I have said before they shouldn’t happen but they have and the factory are replacing them. It is extremely annoying for us of course as well as the customer but they are being replaced.
It appears to be an issue with the curved blister and the fact the figure is moving when in transit.
Thankfully it’s not the whole run, we have been checking the more recent orders and they have had the extra protection added by ourselves. We sadly were not aware of this problem until the first shipment was sent out. The factory and ourselves believe we know what the problem is and it will be sorted and everyone with a nose rub will indeed get an replacement.
But no figure was not packaged without having it QC first.

This is sad stuff when it comes to the Bond figure. What I'm hearing from Bond fans is exactly what I've seen from Doctor Who fans - their figures have a load of problems and don't match figures by other companies, yet no one else is doing them, therefore they'll keep buying out of a combination of gratitude and fear that the line will fold. Goldfinger and OJ do look good but Bond seems to get the same review each time - cartoony sculpt, poor paint job, poor QC, poor body and poor suit, with only the accessories being a win... Yet the line still has their support!

I'm on the fence about getting Bond. That's sad because buying this figure to go with my Shapeways Jetpack would give me one of my all time Grail figures, a Thunderball jet pack Bond. Yet I can't bring myself to put down £210 plus postage.

This won't be the correct suit for the jetpack. You can't be bothered by the cut of the suit but be fine with the suit being completely wrong for your display option.

I can't imagine BCS would do Thunderball without giving us that jetpack option with the correct charcoal suit and blue shirt. You should definitely wait.

That will be a grail standalone Bond display, especially if there's an accommodating stand for blast off mode.

One thing is for sure, the fact that they are replacing the heads and not even requiring the heads to be shipped back, much like QMX did shows genuine desire to right the wrongs that are inevitable when you’re a young company. And it’s not that they are young per se, but you can see how many new techniques materials and procedures they used.

I give them a pass on this just like I did QMX... I feel bad for them if anything they don’t want to dip into profit for replacements and it jeopardizes the health of the line in the end anyways.

Thank you Raymond. That is 100% correct we are working extremely hard on all our future figures and lines and working with the factories very closely to help us improve each future release.

Thunderball Bond with trunks and orange diver suit top with speargun and underwater jetpack a MUST. Are you listening BC?
Oh yeah Domino to go along with him- one of the best Bond girls IMO.

I’m mirroring Raymond’s sentiments.
There’s an issue, it’s dissapointing, but the company are going to see us right. Fantastic ethics there.

Will this stop me ordering LALD? Hell no.

Said it before, the figure set is stunning, and I’m still having a lot of fun with Bond. I think he wants Keaton’s Batmobile - it’s got more gadgets -

Thunderball: for flight mode accuracy he would also need a helmet. Still, you could go for the poster image!!
