Big trouble is headed for The Rock.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently in negotiations to headline a Big Trouble in Little China remake, which X-Men: First Class screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz will pen.

If the deal goes through, Johnson will play Jack Burton, the hard-nosed trucker who finds himself caught in a mystical battle that secretly rages in New York City’s Chinatown. Kurt Russell held the role for the original film, which John Carpenter directed.

Stay tuned to ComicBook.com for more updates on Big Trouble in Little China as they develop.

**** the ****ing Rock already. Another utterly pointless remake that won't hold a candle to the original. There's only one Jack Burton.

"The check is in the mail."

"It's all in the reflexes."

"This is going to take crackerjack timing, Wang."

"We may be trapped."

"Jack Burton, me!"

I can just see the nightmare in my head, of these lines and more getting bastardized. Staph Hollywood, staph.

Can The Rock grow a mullet?

They can glue one on his head :lol

While it seems completely unnecessary, The Rock would be great. The guy can act, is a badass, and does comedy very very well.

It is also possible not to watch it and just enjoy the original that isn't altered one iota because of this. Weird idea, I know. :dunno
