Sigh... Just can't see them topping the original cast and all the cheesy set pieces. It's also a tough one to balance with today's sensibilities. Chinese mysticism was a cool mysterious concept in the 80s, but I don't think it holds that same allure today. They might try to go more realistic, serious or gritty, or all out action comedy that could easily fall flat. The Rock seems to be pretty much tied to everything these days. He's a charismatic actor, and this generations Arnold! and you can't blame him for cashing in. I would have preferred to see him as the new Terminator as opposed to stepping in as Jack Burton.

This can be said about anything, and doesn't mean a whole lot.

This movie was a joke. A play on cliche and on action structure and on Chinese myths/stories. The humor of it was what makes it so endearing, and the choppy snappy dialogue (screwball comedy). I doubt the new remakers see it that way.

They'll probably Die Hard it up, add more fighting, more "drama", less "ghosts". Tom Hardy is Jack Burton.

Oh, course. Why not? Let's just remake 'em all.....

Let's remake Howard the Duck too.

Yes like when Scary Movie spoofed Scream. The movie you're spoofing WAS a satire you morons and they deconstructed the genre a hell of a lot better than you. :lol

I dig The Rock as much as the next guy, but he's not Jack Burton! He lacks the charisma that Kurt Russell brought to the character.

This is pointless and unnecessary.

:Flush

Most people complaining online probably haven't seen the original in like 20 years :lol
