Yeah I guess Samurai aren't everyone's cup of tea. :lol But the more I look at Blackbeard the more tempted I am to order it. Would it be wrong to get a PF based just on how badass it looks, even if your not into what it's based on much? This case being Pirates.

I still think its the greatest PF SSC has made yet, but its too expensive for my blood. Unfortunately, I don't think this one will ever decrease in value. :monkey2

I'll have to be content with eventually finding that $200 Indy PF.

I don't think any collectible is "worth" the retail price. I mean, you can pick up a used car for $400 and use it to get to a job everyday. But relative to other collectibles, I think Blackbeard fits at $400.

That is a damn fine PF. Kudos to Sideshow. Extra kudos to Sideshow if they can get the production piece to look as nice. Me wants one.

Call me pessimistic but I doubt the production piece will look nearly as good.

The paint work alone is truly impressive. The production piece will probably have a much flatter and less dynamic skin tone unfortunately. Also, there is a lot of room for error on the clothing with it being multi-layered and very detailed. I bet there will be buttons missing on a few of these PFs and the "leather" part definitely won't look as nice.

Awesome PF though. :rock

Impressive piece, but at $400 definitely a "wait and see." I'd hate to spend that kind of cash and have the final product fall short. This isn't going anywhere with retailers anytime soon. Plus I hate to commit to such a pricey piece not knowing what else will be announced in 2009.

Digging the piece for sure, the dynamic pose, Trevor's 'angry' sculpt, the tailoring, the base...Pretty amazing! But I agree...will have to wait to see what the retailers are selling the regular for and take a 'wait-and-see' approach. Have to see what other PF's are in the pipeline that are 'must-haves' first.

I hope not because that's the biggest reason I'm getting it. I'm not really that in to pirates and I don't really know that much about Blackbeard aside from having been where he died. Although I intend to do a bit of research on him to make up for that. Kinda like when I wanted the Iron Man comiquette so I started reading the New Avengers and Iron Man comic books. As it turned out I liked the comics, and the character, and the comiquette is awesome so it worked out all the way around. Even if it did cost me more money readng comics and got me in to buying Marvel PF's. I really just need to learn self control.

I don't think its wrong, in fact that should be a main reason to get one? I have no interest in Doom at all but if I could go back and get the EX PF for retail I probably would in a second because it looks bad ass.

And looks like he is $360 at Alter Ego.

I think if someone has $360 to drop, you might as well go $400 and get the rarer exclusive. The reward points equate to $20 so its really only $20 more for a rarer version. Plus with all the pieces on this thing I would feel much more comfortable dealing with SSC's CS department.

Don't forget you can do Flexpay through Sideshow. It makes the finances easier to manager on a pricier piece like this one. I use Flexpay on everything I'm sure I will want to commit to buy through Sideshow.

I think I'm just gonna wait on it, like others have said who knows what other PF's are coming out next year, and who knows how many will be must haves, for me anyway. Still very, very tempting though.
