Adam might be off the money...

I don't think the prop coat is green. It's never looked that way. Not on exhibit. Certainly not on screen with how the movie's color graded.

On the coat he was inspecting, he may have based his observation on the dirtied surfaces. You can see how it looks green where it's dirty. But I'm not convinced that's the base color of the coat.

Although it appears the pants are brown. And those look green on screen.

We also finally have a clear look at the badge made in production. And it looks like Por's 1/1 badge is a total miss. So I'll be tossing that now. But I did let them know about it anyway.

The guys on the RPF forums have been arguing about the coat color for like 8 years now. It's really turned into that gold/white blue/black dress at this point.

In the movie it's a much stronger aqua color due to the color grading, which some people say they want the jacket to look visually like it does in a lot of the scenes... Others say no it needs to be prop accurate. Then there's the back and forth of is it green, black, blue, gray, or some mixture of them. It's a really tough match.

To me it's almost like this really dark blackish aqua. I know in the video Adam put out where he was distressing his coat he worked with the actual prop team and said "this is the color", but I don't see the resemblance. Maybe it's green with a ton of waxing that gives it that aqua hue. But I don't know, I won't even claim to be right or know better than anyone else.

If you guys want to pool our money we could buy one and make a final judgement 😄

K is the new Myers

I thought I would share my progress on my custom Blackbox K figure. I was already very impressed with him before but I knew what I wanted to do to it to bring him closer to screen accuracy. Improvements include:

- Swapped to AT020 that my clean Supermad K w/ same sculpt (clean version) was on
- Fixed gap at bottom of neck and jumper neck line
- Corrected proportions for:
head and torso
shoulder
lower legs
- Corrected shoulder line and posture
- Corrected/ improved coat sleeve length with the AT020
- Improved jumper neck line to be more like film and give a more natural and convincing look
- Improved/ fixed trousers by swapping for Supermad trousers and the AT020

He was suffering the ol' Resident Evil 3 Tyrant look before with the boxy, broad, stiff shoulders and wide waist area. The AT020 fixed everything and made the BB coat fit even better.

The SM trousers fit better now and don't bunch up and look funny at the bottom. The Supermad trousers also have a screen-accurate outside hem. I think the slightly looser fit of the Supermad might also be closer to the film.

The BB jumper is closer to jumpers 2 and 3 in @Scout Trooper's post, above with a slightly better length than the SM jumper and a better neckline to play with to get a more natural look: the SM jumper neckline is straighter whilst the BB one is more crescent/ can be futzed to be crescent like the film. I find that doing this also makes K look more relaxed and lends a bit of realism to him.

One of my BB jumpers from the battle damaged version of the figure, is approx. .5cm longer than my other one, which is nice. But the neck is neater on the one I chose to use. The SM jumper is the shortest of the 3. I do love the patterning of the SM jumper.

The only slight regression is that his arms no longer fall quite as close to his sides due to the slightly larger abs and or biceps of the AT020.

I trimmed the laces on my other BB K's boots. I may do the same to these, or just cut the whole length of loose lace entirely, since you never see it in the film. I'm using the BB V2 battle damaged K hands, which are nice, pale and matches his face and battle-worn. Though his left open hand looks a bit awkward for this post, I find, so I might swap the hands back to the Supermad ones, which has a more relaxed open hand.

Really nice side profile

Give him the PKD blaster to match the scene, and keep the other for the clean version👍

Hey @Scout Trooper, thanks. And thanks for that detail, man! Funny, I was wondering why his blaster has 2 red lights in the bridge scene last night and forgot that he obtains Deckard's blaster. Yeah, I'll use the Blackbox one for my clean, lightly weathered K.

I'm making a few alterations and might switch back to the BB trousers as they are skinnier at the bottom and more screen-accurate in that regard. But the colour of the Supermad trousers are closer to what I see on screen on the UHD on my colour accurate display. Plus it has the correct hem. Although, the BB trousers look the same/ very close to how they appear in the Adam Savage video shared above. The BB one has the overall more correct look, I feel, so I might go with that one. going to hide the laces, too. I have another pair of BB trousers that appear to be lightly weathered to replicate the same salt water stains from the film, which is very nice attention to detail. However, that pair is lighter than my other pair from the clean BB figure, so a good candidate for dyeing.

To see if it might help get his arms closer to this sides, I cut off the top part of undergarment and kept the thigh portion to very slightly beefy up his thighs, as they like making a lot of these types of bodies with annoyingly skinny thighs for some reason. But that didn't help. These Worldbox bodies are a nightmare to cut open, too as I learned with the AT011, so, I'm forgoing doing that to slice off some of the sides of the chest. The alternative would be to file/ sand it down a bit, but I don't want to risk it on this occasion, since the body as stock really helps the jacket to fit great, I feel. I might buy another AT020 and try that, to be safe. In testing things again, I tried the SM jumper once more to see if the arms fell any closer to the sides, but they actually give more trouble with that. And I still prefer the BB jumper for this custom, so will stick with it.

- Took out thigh undergarment: Was barely serving any purpose as can't see thighs in full, and became cumbersome to re-fit trousers over it after I cut the top part of the garment off
- Re-clothed and re-futzed. I was trying to figure out if Gosling has his coat open in the bridge scene and based on the side profile in the extreme long shot, it looks like it is, so I've opened it up to match what I am seeing
- Cut loose portion of laces entirely as it was just a pain to deal with and will never be seen. Also made re-fitting the already very difficult and tight Blacbox trouser bottoms over the boots easier.
- Swapped in Blackbox trousers: Better now
- Swapped in PKD Blaster: K uses Deckard's blaster in the final act and is seen holding it in the bridge scene. I would love some red LED's for this!
- Swapped in Supermad K hands, which includes a better relaxed hand, matching Gosling's open in the scene.

For the missing coat shoulder pad filling, I half-tried cotton and some oval foam pads that I salvaged from the Supermad Deckard belly padding that I took apart and played around with on another figure. The pads weren't effective and very tricky to get in place. I think I'd need to open the stitch on the inside of the coat and stuff.

Before: Left, Now: Right

Short of trying out one or two more bodies in the future and trying some adapter pieces for the neck ball peg to give a tad more stability (though, he is OK as is and has great articulation), I think I'm about done with most of this K. Next is commissioning a neon-lit diorama. Though, replicating the bridge and Joi advert on the building won't really work the best unless I take K up to my cinema for display, where I have a lot more room than inside my Detolfs. So, I might go with a more general night time scene/ a mix-mash of things from the film with neon lighting, or just the bridge and a back drop with the buildings seen in the bridge scene behind K, and then cast the pink, purple and blues onto K myself somehow.

Remind me which mods have you done to the AT020?

Seems like a good choice for a body.

I think the AT020 is a very good body. The main thing I dislike about it and the AT011, is how Worldbox lock customisation behind the extremely solid construction of it and 'wall off' all screws. It and the AT011 arms screw in from below on large, long screws, which go into the arm shoulder pivot pieces. Completely different from the vast majority of bodies, ala Hot Toys etc. I still have to get the other arm out from my AT011. Had to butcher the torso to get to them, though once I realised what I was dealing with, ha ha!

Remind me which mods have you done to the AT020?

I've just done a light mod to the neck to fit the new head. I removed the undergarment I had before when my Supermad K outfit was on it. And I removed the simple neck adapter mod that I was using before for my clean K head, as although my bloody K head is the same, the neck hole is a bit smaller, so it needed a different mod. For 'bloody K', I fitted the stock Blackbox neck adapter and neck ball peg to the AT020 neck adapter post. You'll have to slice the chest to get the neck adapter out easily, otherwise try heating the chest heavily and pulling the ball peg (works for some bodies such as Sideshow Burton/ Plisken). I love slicing chests though and 'scavenging' parts and as it allows me to disassemble a body and learn how it works and see if anything can be improved upon. As I mentioned above, I might try another adapter piece on top the ball peg for further stability but the head doesn't even move when moving him around carefully.

Seems like a good choice for a body.

Well, it depends on what outfit and head you are pairing with a body/ the AT020, since you are ultimately working to the strengths and weaknesses of those things, as well as the body. Both go hand-in-hand. But I'd say you are always working more towards the former, since you can more easily change and or modify a body than you can clothing and the head sculpt. I always exhaust many options, body-builds and mods etc for a character, till I have achieved a degree of screen-accuracy and correct anatomy of the person that I am happy with. For example, I built at least 15 bodies for my Crusade Indy. I'm very happy with his current/ final incarnation.

I have a good inkling and idea to make better use of the undersized Supermad coat on a different body, so might try that soon.

In case it helps, if you backtrack, I think on this thread, I made a few in-depth write-ups and guides as to my various body tests for the Supermad K outfit and same head (clean version). As well as the stock Supermad body, I tried a DiD Advanced 2.0 and a custom body made up of ANH/ Leto Joker (same as ANH) parts including a Leto Joker chest with the neck sliced off.

I hope that helps.

I made a new body for K today as I wasn't entirely happy with the restricted articulation of his arms and not being able to get them at his sides fully and as per the bridge scene.

Changes and improvements with V4:

- Swapped back to Blackbox body and made arms longer (too short before/ too short for the BB coat)
- Removed shoulder padding that was added by a previous customiser and dropped shoulders all the way down. The padding failed to create any purposeful effect. It seems like it was added to broaden the shoulders and or to simulate the coat shoulder pads. But it only made the shoulder line and proportions wrong.
- Enhanced the neck adapter with a light mod for better fit and stability of head

I'm not sure if I will stick with the new build, but it is nice having the arms screen-accurate and more natural looking. That said, I don't feel it is very noticeable all the time and mainly is from side profiles. Perhaps a side-by-side in person would reveal a more drastic difference, though. The new build is also skinnier as the BB body is slimmer and lacks the same definition and size of the AT020, which is quite close to Gosling's upper body in the film. The BB body makes K look a tad too skinny perhaps. But to me, he looks like this, very tall and slim in most shots of the film. But that is the trade-off for being able to have the arms close to the sides and hands fall on his thighs properly. It's still bugging me, so I'll have to ruminate and observe him and see if I will swap back, or leave as is.

@Scout Trooper, are you taking the piss? As what you posted above comes across as extremely childish, intimidating and belittling. And where did you get '7 times this week' from? I shared photos of my figure on there twice last week and once this week. I'm shocked by your behaviour and reaction and the fact that you went out of your way to make photo shop some images to make a mockery of me. That feels very personal.

It's self-explanatory but for the record, I'm passionate about figures and what I do, just as everyone I am sure here is. That is why we are all here. And I like to share my hard work and efforts with others out of that pride and to help others, just as I helped you 2 days ago, above. I spend a lot of time on the photos and write-ups in order to do that. And I like to contribute in this regard to threads to keep them alive and flourishing. And I see value in that. I am inspired by the figures and work of others and I do anything I can to give back to the communities for the hobbies I am a part of, in the hope that what I do and share will inspire someone else, or be of enjoyment, or help in some way.

You've ruined my night and made me feel unwelcomed here.

It was just a little banter, relax dude.

I guarantee he has absolutely no ill will and is just making a joke cause you've switched the body a few times.

I'm sorry he made you feel that way, I know he probably didn't mean any harm, but it's still frustrating that you pour so much effort detailing your progress on your own figure and that someone comes and uses you as a laughingstock.

Please keep sharing the mods you're doing to your K, I'm interested.
