Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'd limit myself to the main 3 guys -- and I'd like Slimer, a Terror Dog and Gozer to pair with each of the boys.

The white Grace Jones/Gozer is about the only GB character I can think of that I wouldn't be hugely interested in. Not sure why - I think it's the simple Bowie stage outfit more than anything.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Hot toys best step up their diorama game come 2017, looks to me blitzway and their new former hot toys sculpter are here to stay and make an impact

The figures on stands just wont cut it next year

Yeah, and Blitzway smokes HT's butt with its superior higher pricing too.

Going by the Fight Club figure, what's the guesses here? Each Ghostbuster = $250

4 pack for $600

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I've decided I'm only going to spend $750 on Ghostbuster dolls. That seems reasonable, right?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Gonna be at least a grand for them. No way they're lower than $250 a piece right?

I was referencing just buying the three.

I like your math.

Me too. BIG bonus for buying all 4 guys. But the joke is: its still $600 bucks. :lol

The more I think about it, the more I realize that Ghostbusters is going to be too costly to have on my shelf for a movie I barely watch anymore.

Maybe I'll just get Venkman and call it a day. $1,000+ for GB is just.... well, come on.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Well, the moment of truth is tomorrow in finding out if these are going to be too good to pass up. It'd be nice to have something other than Marvel, DC and Star Wars all the time.

Even though that's pretty much all of what I watch. Ghostbusters would probably be right outside of that. :lol

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I've wanted Ghostbusters for many years -- have all the Mattel guys waiting to be rebuilt -- but this franchise requires at least three figures to even start a GB collection... and Blitzway has scared me off because of its pricing on Fight Club. Wasn't it $550 for two figures of the same guy?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

This would be my first experience with Blitzway products. Are they known for having steep prices for their figures?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I still watch GB all the time at least 3 or 4 times a year and i even watched it in the theater when it was out last year. I'm in for all 4 figures, the car and whatever else they have. It's going to be $$$$$$$$$$$$ but i have been wanting these for awhile.

Yep. Ghostbusters opened over the weekend in theaters and I celebrated by watching Ghostbusters twice already before having even seen the one that opened over the weekend once. :lol

Actually it was $500, but who's counting?

The difference here is the same thing we got with the DX Bespin Luke, that was $150 per fig in a time when HT figs were $180ish. We're getting essentially the same exact figure four times with different heads. You take advantage of economies of scale, same uniform, same boots, same huge accessory, just four different heads.

If I told the factory to make me 4,000 Proton Packs, it'd be $4,000, but if I told them make me 16,000 Packs, it'd be $12,000. So, unlike Durden where it's almost entirely two unique figures, there's a bunch of re-use here, which SSC used to drive down the costs of the Clone Troopers and Jedi earlier on in the run. I honestly wouldn't expect the price to be completely out of bounds. The real driving factor here is the engineering of the Proton Pack.

I expect $250 per fig, but a more significant discount for a 4-pack. like maybe $800 instead of $1,000. Or rather that's what I would like to see, and what I think is the smarter business move, giving a substantial discount for a larger financial commitment is going to lead to more revenue in the long run, but we don't see a lot of discounts like that in the hobby, so who knows??

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

For my GB $1,000 allotment I'm hoping to get Venkman, Slimer, Dana and Louis. I'd love a ghost like library ghost as well, but that won't happen.

Having all four guys is too much of a financial and space commitment. I do love GB, but with some much SW and Indy stuff already, and now they're announced BTTF Doc (which means I need to get Marty,) it's all spinning out of control. Didn't think they'd do Doc or high-end GB.

I have one Matty GB fig which I'll hopefully use an extra Louis sculpt for - if they do him.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'd just like to have the 4 guys. As awesome as the car will be, if I can live without a Batmobile or a Delorean, I can probably live without an Ecto-1.

I can't remember the last time I was this hyped to see four sculpts. :lol

It's just the precedent they set. I'm actually kind of worried that my expectations are going to be too high, but between Brigante, Durden, and Balboa, I was ecstatic the moment I saw the licensing announcement.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 & 1/12 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Very curious to see how these look, their price, and their release date.

I thought I would spend less on toys over the next 18 months than the last 18. Yeah right. Between ghostbusters, back to the future, and the slew of star wars figures I will inevitably buy......Nevermind I don't even want to add it all up.
