Yeah, that's what they're fighting for

Blood < Oil

Anyway, you and your oh so open mind apparently weren't here two weeks ago when this was an issue. Before it got talked up and down. Before we had an answer from SSC. But now that we have an answer, what the **** is there to talk about? This has a very high ES and a terrible exclusive. Fett is a very popular character but it will take time for this to get back to retail value. I'm getting mine for about $275 and I think that's a good price. When this starts shipping and people realize how great it looks and we're flooded with pics and praise, people will jump back on the wagon. If you can find a trusted seller and snag one while the getting is good, go for it. I never pre-order from ebay but deals are to found out there, just get it before it ships.

For all our dealers out there, I'd love to know how many cancellations they got as a result of the whole 'Plastic' debacle.

Ouch Loki. My open mind has taken in too much horse crap as everyone
here has forged their own opinion about this piece. I was here and joined in on the debate. At this point, I'm thinking the Exclusive wall turd that comes with Boba isn't worth $50. I started the thread so people can report what they've seen Boba Plastic sell for on the secondary market...about $50 less than retail for the regular version so far. Will it sink farther? Hmmmm. :maul

The exclusive is the worst ever. Fett should go for $200.00 and under. Give it time. Plastic or not at 4000 pieces it's doomed to fail. And with all the cancelations Fett will be available at the Spooktacular for free.

I still think this will end up cheaper down the road. Lots of items sell for near retail when they first ship and then drop later.

Yep. Even the Exclusive will sell for $200-225 in a year.

I posted this in another thread, but obviously no one read it. I truly believe that this plastic thing is a non-issue.

Just to clarify something from chatting with the SSC peeps at ORC this weekend.

They tried to use a polystone body with Fett. But when everything was cast up, the armor pieces already made would not fit on the polystone body due to the different rates of shrinkage of the different materials. So the only choice was do to a steel mold for the body, a process that is hugely expensive for SSC, especially for such a large size item. If you're making 15,000 or more of something then the cost evens out for a steel mold. But for only 4000 Fetts the steel mold is actually MORE expensive for them.

So they COULD NOT use a polystone body unless they went back and started from scratch and re-sculpted everything.

So the question that everyone should be asking is, why didn't they RAISE the price since the per unit cost is more for them?

Going by that train of thought maybe the 12 inch line should be cheaper since they use the same body for all the line and price per unit cost is way down.
