The president of Showtime has pretty much confirmed that Craig is returning by announcing that the series 'Purity' has been delayed until 2019 and stating, "He’s doing Bond first".

Well after several "there's no confirmation" comments from Craig during radio interviews, he's finally caved and said on The Late Show that Bond 25 will be his last.

The end of an era...also he'll be the longest running Bond at 13 years, overtaking Moore's 12.

They sure knew how to pump them out at a much faster pace back in the day! I still feel like Craig barely got the part a few years ago. How time flies.

Yeah, having two four-year gaps between films hasn't helped. If it weren't for the MGM bankruptcy, and Craig being a bit over it after Spectre, he probably could've got another couple films under his belt.

Well I didn't expect Craig to return, seemed like he was done after the last one. Guess he couldnt say no to the crazy amount of money he was offered.

Was hoping to see James Norton in the role.

I'm glad they're giving Craig another shot and not going ahead with the rumored reboot just yet. Spectre was supposed to be his last outing as Bond, and I thought it sucked compared to Skyfall and Casino Royale. He deserves to go out on a high note, and hopefully this is it.

I wasn't a fan of Spectre at all. Absolutely loved Skyfall though.

Problem is Craig is looking more and more like an aging Nazi than he does a strapping hero. At his age now he'd make a much better villain.

I would too, but the Bond people seem to fail every time they try. You'd think with what's happening in the world they could give us a villain at least half as bombastic and vile as Trump is today.

Problem is Craig is looking more and more like an aging Nazi than he does a strapping hero. At his age now he'd make a much better villain.

Which is perfect, he's still got that cold steely look and that's just on a talk show.

He's versatile enough to play Bond or a Bond villain, that's a win/win for him.

I'm ok with a good guy looking as menacing as the villain.

I get what you're saying he might just be that 40/60 Bond/Villain you're seeing but I like his Bond look.

Silva at least had some energy... though in the end he wasn't anything more than a blonde Joker.

Bond has a long history of ripping off hit movies... from 'Jaws' to Star Wars, etc. It was once THE trend-setter. But that was a long, long time ago.

It feeds off itself too much. Has too many nods to itself that border on spoof (like the Austin Martin -- will they ever let that go).

Casino Royal came the closest to a genuine 'Bond Movie' that felt fresh and new and yet harkened back to the books. It was one of the best reboots in history... and they have simply squandered that treasure ever since.

They desperately need two key ingredients: 1) a Bond who wants to play Bond; and 2) someone in the creation group who actually cares about Bond and simply loves action/adventure movies (not someone who is there simply to 'do it different' or do it 'his' way.)

CR is definately one of the best if not the best Bond movie but yeah downhill from there with occasional peaks.
