The face looks nothing like the proto... the lines on the proto's face are much sharper, cleaner, and defined... and his hair is just globs compared to the proto.

no idea what you talking about, the photo dark lord Dave posted of the face is perfection. If mine came like this I will be very happy, and I don't get happy too often with ss products nowadays

well, this is not bad at all, but for exemple the head is really far the proto.

The hairsculpt isn't the same at all and the paintjob isn't really as good as on the prototype. There is missing lot of shade !

I agree with you but just on the paint job.
The scult without paint is totally like the prototype.
You should see the arwen head that someone on the forum repaint, he removed sideshow paint first, you can clearly see the face totally white... and he applied his magic touch with fresh new paint.
Totally amazing. Its almost better than the prototype.
You should see the details in arwen eyes. Wow!
If I had the money, i would send him all my statues heads for touch up.

I think anyone who's expecting for the actual mass-produced piece to be as good as the prototype is a bit delirious. For one, the prototype is done by actual artists who developed the piece. The mass-produced ones are done by laborers from China. I'm not saying that we should not expect high quality, but as long as it comes out decent, and maybe half as good as the paintjob on the prototype, I'm happy with it. Arwen is a completely different story, waaaaaay below the average acceptable paintjob, and I'm so happy to see that Josh has greatly improved on at least one of those pieces.

The only flaw I think I found is that the entire sword is silver painted.
