Not sure if that is art proof, or a sculpture. It looks good, but cosmic marvel is not my thing. With the exception of the Silver Surfer and Galactus.

I gotta join in that MAN, BOWEN IS STEPPING IT UP LATELY! That Gladiator is flipping awsome and if you look at the way he is posed, he will probably have a bar in his legs to allow him to float above the base.

I also know that he is working on Psylocke, Havok, Emma Frost, Black Cat, Ant-Man, Beta Ray Bill, and hinted at Dazzler. One of the best things about Bowen is that he actually involves fans and LISTENS to their ideas.

To answer your question, since Al doesn't bother to actually read the post he created, it is a zbrush sculpture image that Randy has photoshopped on to a background. Bowen is really stepping their game up lately in regards to printing statues..



Which I think could be pretty incredible. I saw some AMAZING Zbrush work, and it looks great on screen, but I'm unaware of how close the current printers can match the files. I read that even after they are printed, that there is still a lot of fine tuning done by hand. I personally can't wait to see some of the more complex (read less smooth/more hard detail) that can be accomplished when 'printing' statues.

Funny, the haters seem to try to find any and every reason to hate. now it's because the new previews are cgi or photoshopped? take a look at Loki which started out as CGI rendering and translated pretty much exactly the same to statue form.

In fact, I think cgi or photoshop is the smarter way to preview something. then changes can be easily made to the statue before too much work is invested into actually sculpting something.

Not just Loki but Mephisto as well. This is a new tool to allow Randy to sculpt things faster and get more things done in a single phase.
