Thanks, I'm finding there's probably 2 directions box art can go on these.
The ones Les' guy did definitely have a vintage look to them with the heavy use of the teal water graphic.
I think you either go vintage looking to tie it to when the movie came out, or you go modern because of when the figures were assmbled and you use a more contemporary design.
Personally, i find the use of the water color on the other box art strong, kinda overused. I think vintage and JAWS for packaging art isn't the nicest color scheme. I'm sure JAWS figures in the 70's would have been boxed almost exactly like that, but I almost feel like these figures deserve a more contemporary art design to enhance the class of the figures with box art equally classy.
They all may sound harsh so I'll use an example of what I'm getting at. The vintage look is great for vintage figures, but I'd expect to open that box and find a MEGO style figure inside, not something as realistic and top notch as the figures we've got. A more contemporary design, I'd expect to find figures inside of the caliber of other figures in boxes similar to them, like Sideshow and Hot Toys.
I think we'd be better off with a design suggestive of the figures' quality.
