I've decided to resculpt my Sideshow Ash head and make him look like Brisco. I'll post progress here. Please critique my work as this is my first try at sculpting and I want to get better. Sorry I'll try to take better pictures later. Does any one know of a good hat I can use? Thanks.

I plan to cut most of the hair off. I just tried a test run on the paint. I'm going to have to strip it off and try again. It looks ok for my first shot but I want to make it the best I can. Thanks for the link.

I got more work finished on Brisco. I need to repaint him and maybe trim some more hair off. I also have an idea for Lord Bowler. Does anyone know where to get some hair for 1/6 figures or how to attach it? Thanks!!

Ambitious project and I commend you for the effort. However if I may make a few suggestions; Your paint is very thick. If I were you, I would strip the paint and start over with a coat of primer if necessary and multiple layers of a high quality paint such as Model Master Acryl or Tamaya. If you look in the custom help thread you will find numerous tutorials for painting eyes and Dark Artist made some great suggestions for 5:00 shadow. The eye brows seem to be one solid brush stroke, so again, try for a thinner paint, some feathering and maybe a different tone or two. The hair is also suffering from the thick paint and loss of detail. Try a very dark base coat, followed by a lighter tone and a much lighter shade for the top highlights.

It is a very long thread but the custom artist help in it has a wealth of information from some of our most talented members such as the assorted Josh's, Les, Mikey etc, and you will find it very helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions. I take a look at it. The paint I'm using is cheap acrylics from Walmart. I love feedback it pushes me to do better. I'm probably going to resculpt the mouth, because I stripped the paint off for the repaint and it cracked my Sculpey. Oh well experience makes one better.

looks very well! just try to refine the paint job, by the way, give me some time (1 or 2 months I have lots of projects!!) and I have the brisco country head ready, maybe I make 5 or 6 casts only
regards!!

Hey Beto, take all the time you need. If you make one you know I'll buy one. I'm trying to create a army of Bruce. :)

A new repaint using some tips from these forums. I will probably repaint him again in hopes of getting better each time. Please critique. Thanks for looking.

I finally have gotten better at painting so I revisited My Brisco head. Now I'm going to start building the figure. I'll use this head as a place holder until I receive my commissioned head later this year.
