Brittany Murphy dead at 32

This is sad. The last Brittany Murphy film I watched was The Ramen Girl, which was pretty recent (2008) and is actually pretty good. It's about an American girl who learns to make authentic Ramen in Japan.

It sucks how some people try to glibly belittle a celebrity's life because they believe their work isn't significant or immensely popular compared to someone else. She was in some good movies, and she could have been in more, she was so young.

I'm not too familiar with her work. I've seen a few movies in which she starred, so I can't be as sympathetic to this turn of events as I could be, but she was someones daughter, friend, girlfriend, role model, etc, and that's worth something.

Kidding aside, this is very sad news indeed especially less than a week away from xmas. Thoughts and prayer to her loved ones.

People don't generally realize that if you diet drastically or have excessive workouts often you're potassium levels drop and can cause a heart attack. I know she supposedly dieted often and if you believe any tripe out if the tabloids mat have been anorexic. Either way it's a shame, I really thought she was talented.

I read that her role in the Expendables got cut from the movie.
The pressures of hollywood on today's young women can make them drop too much weight.

I gasped when I saw the headline on Yahoo yesterday. My wife was beside me and didn't know what I was so shocked about since she didn't know who Brittany was.

But yes, very shocking especially because of the age. My first thoughts were drugs or anorexia. She's been looking unhealthily skinny for the past few years.

You're not the only one who has mentioned that they haven't heard of her. I'm surprised. She was a great actress IMO.

Natural causes at this early date without toxicology reports, etc. just means she was shot or hit over the head or something like that. They won't know for sure for weeks.

I havn't seen any of those films, I keep meaning to see 8 mile but never got round to it. I might now, in honour of Miss Murphy (RIP)

She was Luane in King of the Hill. Thats why I know who she was. Great voice actress. I loved her character on that show.

She was my least favorite character in the show, but is the only thing I've seen of Brittany Murphy's work to date. I didn't know she was in the show (and didn't know she existed until she was gone.)

Was a big fan, liked her ever since Clueless and watched all the movies above, I think that last movie that I did see her in was Just Married. My wife called me a couple days ago about her passing and I was shocked because I knew that she was our age, 32. Just too soon for someone to pass and I bet she had so much more to give to the world, it really is sad. I pray for friends, family and close friends. She will be missed!
