Guys i know this is'nt about an individual figure and know some of you will have seen these videos on YouTube already , but i thought it was a matter of interest to all buyers and even sellers who try to provide good service and value . I also thought that the best place to bring this topic is on this forum as i value all you guys opinions and knowledge. Anyway please have a look at these videos and let me know your thoughts and to hear from some online sellers would be awesome . Please forgive and colourful language but i'm a man of passion [ame="https://youtu.be/wxXhYpO2jyc"]https://youtu.be/wxXhYpO2jyc[/ame]

Haha, you are also a man who has a way with words. I think i am going to steal that line.

You are totally right about the prices soaring way out of control. Much like in your Neca Rocky videos ive had to try and experiment around with other collectibles that dont cost £200+ a pop whenever im itching for a new toy. And its a nice and welcome change. It especially hits home when you step out of the Hot Toys bubble and visit other companies who ask for a fraction of the cost but equally put out a great product.

If the HK prices carry on to raise as they are i can see it being the death of the 1:6 boom in popularity. The items are selling now for 2 year after value prices when they are not even being stocked yet. They've got it all wrong. Ill wait until the items come in stock in the UK if i ever decide to buy anything in the future.

Thank you for commenting my friend , i hoped this subject would spark the input of many opinions but it seems hard to start a tread on here :O)

It's not hard at all, just write an actual post and you'll see... I'm curious to know what you're talking about but I'm not so curious that I'm gonna watch two-and-a-half hours of video, that's just nuts. Most people surely feel the same. Even just the first video is asking a lot.

to be honest bruva the point i'm making is all in the first video , the second and third is just me answering comments from the first video , to thanks people for taking the time to comment and pick up on the points they make . but i guess long videos are not your thing so thanks for taking your time to comment on this thread :O)

but having said all that if you do take a look please let me know your thoughts , and ya never know you might be entertained :O)

I too have noticed the prices creeping up on ebay I know pound is rubbish at the mo but I think the hong kong sellers are taking the piss. Its not just the price there quoting on the figure its also shipping rates.

Nice video mate. I've always been one to wait for new releases, it's hard when we have a culture driven by instant gratification. It's cool to see someone with a presence setting a tone like this; support local and don't get sucked into early release prices. I always enjoy your videos, you have a lot of good stuff to say and that take time.

Well, all though it is a video you only really need to listen to it in the back ground. Its a Vlog basically

Long story short, in the last 6 or so months the HK prices have skyrocketed for no apparent reason. Alot of us went to HK before sideshow or our own countries distributers because the prices they sold Hot Toys for were about £30-£40 lower than ours but the postage made it about even. But due to the early release it meant we could get it quicker. HK sellers have started to notice the pattern and are adding their own " early stock " prices which essentially is just them trying to squeeze extra cash out of our impatient pockets. Most noticeable recently being an extra $150 on top of the retail price of the DX11 just because they can

Its not the end of the world but the scales have tipped so much in money vs waiting that its worth the wait than to pay extra

I agree with You there mate and are so right in saying that the early bird prices are blown out of proportion but if people are that obsessed in getting a figure a couple of weeks earlier, then they are crazy, but they know they are going to pay the crazy prices.
If you are one of these people STOP IT.
Support your local work force. Its the local shops in all areas of business's that one day will employ you or in future your kids.
If shops in our area close their doors because no one supported their buisines, then its our fault.
Because its us guys would rather support overseas online Internet sites.

i absolutely agree with you TCK. actually tried to go through some parts of your video...you're a funny dude. i actually mainly buy straight through sideshow to be honest, cause its safe and easier for me than other sites, but that's just my situation. though i totally get your viewpoint on why you don't. keep up the great work and great discussion bro.

I've noticed the bump in prices on ebay, most noticeably for the DX11, especially when the DX11 was delayed.

To those HK sellers, you might get that money out of some fool with too much money and not enough sense, but I ain't one of them.

People stop buying them, those prices will come down.

I remember about 3/4 years ago I picked up a Dark Knight Joker for £100! Now it's going nearly three times that.

If you shop around you can still get decent deals if you're willing to wait. HK sellers still have less popular figures like Odin and Tracker Predator for less than £130, but if you want an iron man/batman/joker etc it'll cost you the big bucks.

I've started looking at UK sellers recently and have bought from Lee Ward and Waimann in the last month on Clippe's recommendation. I'm very happy with the service and don't mind waiting for a figure to come in stock if it helps keep these guys running.

Love this post. I been thinking this all along. I can wait till its in the states before I buy from HK sellers.

But what I have noticed with ebay HK sellers once an item is here and selling from SS they don't drop there prices. :dunno

Yea and you got people stupid enough to buy joker for 500.00

market dictates the price as hk sellers increase prices euro sellers are decreasing the prices, some good prices from france and germany to be had on ebay

ClipperKing -

I watched/listened to that video a few days ago. I only have the Hot Toys Batman 89 but I was slow getting it direct from Sideshow or from a U.S. seller when it was like $200 shipped and had to pay a bit more. I do think that like many things scalpers enter the market and people jump to get the item immediately thinking it will go up even more or just because they need it now. eBay and credit cards created this flipper market when it wasn't there or very small before. Personally, I try to pay cost or less for everything I get. I do like seeing early reviews though. I'm looking forward to your Avengers Thor review.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to all the guys who have given there opinion on this subject but i'd also like to ask who is the first people to look to buy from , as in which seller you check first and also which reviewer do you search for first on youtube when lookin to buy . any input will be welcome
