I have a simple problem - its not just the HK sellers. Prices overall are going way beyond reach. See how the prices have jumped at sideshowtoy over the years. I understand a price jump but the jump has been more than what the quality and details have jumped. Also QC has decreased drastically - getting dinged boxes, broken parts etc. HK seller prices are bound to increase when the returns / qc will be soo poor cause if returns are poor at local dealers what is the advantage to but from them? Sideshow now also charges shipment for certain products. I have personally bought all my products from sideshow and or from individual local sellers but i am seeing that hot toys in general are increasing price needle and testing how much people are willing to pay without much improvisations. This again leads to massive price jumps at HK retailers. Also many of the people who are buying products to stalk up for future investments are further increasing the price.while I am ok with buying 2 for instance i cant buy one for myself and one for my lil cusine cause people buy multiple of the exclusive ones to - sell. All of this drives the prices higher.

I agree totally.
But i have never been in the "get it first at any cost" camp(And only started collecting about a year back in any case).
I have also dealt with certain sellers for parts for customs and asked them for the full figure at equivalent to Sideshow prices(At what i KNOW must be a profit for them if they are just walking into a store and buying stock), but they all, to a man, refused. I know the reason is that they can buy what is(To them), a $160 figure and part it out for $300 easy, so why sell it for $200 to me?
I vote with my feet in those instances.
I buy from Lee(The_One) here in the UK and with a couple of other guys i have dealt with(In the US), generally in equal measure, spreading the sales around a bit.
There's non one seller i deal with any better or worse than another, but they are all very reliable.
I say fuc the scalpers, and now only use them for parts i can't get anywhere else.

when the market is full of mediocre buyers who has alot of expendable cash & little knowledge on what they are buying, the buying will not stop and price will keep going up and up.

this is what happens when things are hyped up.

also the reason the quality keeps dropping further. because they know whatever they sell there will still be people buying them.
