yes, but too many 'dirty' versions were done by many companies. The clean look is more unique.

I suppose, but there are plenty of clean versions of the droids, actually. In the end, I think you should just get what you like best. It's just a shame that we weren't really given that chance since the exclusive sold out so quickly.

Yes, true. Ed is too low.
I do like the separate bases better as I am going to display them on a 2-tier base. The single base is just way too big.

Great set. Wanted to sell the Ex, but change mind and now can barely wait for them :)

Now you guys:
I know what you mean can't wait. I prefer the regular over the Ex good job living in the uk and all that. But both sets are real cool..even the light up feature cool. I normally don't care for that......:impatient:

The EX isn't supposed to be "more detailed" -- it's either supposed to have a little something extra, like a swap-out hand or head, or it's supposed to be an alternate version, like an alt color scheme or different costume. I think that fits here, since the droids were only shiny new in a small portion of the movies. The only problem is that they made the edition size too small.

It's a pretty weird ex though,I get the alt paint job but why the random separate bases? I'd have liked them both on the same polished floor base. I just don't think they look as good separated but different strokes and all that jazz.

Really??? Seems that the Droid collectables are always clean. I can't really think of any dirty ones. Can you name some. I just can't picture them.

I really don't know of any highend dirty droids:

GG: C3PO is clean and so if their prototype of R2D2
Attakus: Semi-clean with some minor wear in the paint
Koto: Both their versions are clean

SSC: C3PO bust both clean and dirty.

It's leaning towards more clean droids than dirty.

I kind of like the brown sand base, too bad the separate Droids didn't have sand on each base too.

The exclusive is both droids are shiny "clean" version and individual yavin themed bases. The reg has the sand base where both are displayed together.

Should be interesting to see these when in hand pics show up. I wonder how good the plain bases will look?

Really can't go wrong with either version.
If you like the droids in this scale, these will probably be the best one to get for a long time.

I believe the exclusives come with the sand base too, right?

Both bases I believe

Not according to Sideshow...

The bases shown on the Ex. version are the bases that are included with C-3PO/R2-D2. There is no plan to include an additional base with the Exclusive version. Since the Ex. Droids are in their 'Yavin' look (eg: shiny and clean) that is why the word 'Yavin' has been used.

The regular Edition will only come with the desert base.
