It seems to be the normal phases a collector goes through.
I know!! And it's killing me....In a good way

Here's a picture of my droids along side MYC's Jawa PF figures. Pictures don't do any of these justice. Michael, thanks for being the creative person you are and making the jawas available to us! Though I'm still upset I got #2 of 25 instead of #1. Gotta get faster!

A nice custom base for exclusive would be the stairs they are standing on in the end scene of Episode 4:
Something like the Kotobukiya vinyl models;

This is very true. Fortunately, I passed right by the 1/6 scale figures and into the PF 1/4 scale world. But I started like probably a lot of collectors here did with Star Wars toys, McFarlane/Neca figures that soon turned into their 18 inch line. I then discovered 1/4 scale PF from SSC and the rest is history.
I have never been tempted by 1/6 scale. No offence to those who like them but I could never get passed the doll like appearance they have.
If people display them alone with a diorama type setting then they can look good. But get too many on a shelf all next to each other and it's doll house city.
The thing is, as someone who has had both, a 1/4th PF looks like a statue whilst a 1/4th Enterbay piece, whilst probably possessing a better sculpt often, just comes off looking like a big toy or doll, which would be fine if one was 12 and/or in the girl guides, but most of us aren't. So you need that maquette-ness that you get with PFs IMO.
I don't know.. there's nothing doll-like with EB's T-800 Battle Damaged Terminator. That thing is one of the most accurate I've seen of any figure or statue. You can't see joints either, which would be more associated with dolls.
Ah thanks for the explanation. W/o it I was like WAAAT??I guess a lot of 1/6 collectors do indeed post pictures of their figures in not the best "light" due to the lack of futzing & posing. I assume PFs are safe as everything is locked in but the 1/6 action figure do need a bit of OCDish type work to get them to shine. But when the right amount of attention has been given even close ups can look great.
But heck 1/4 has more room for accurate details and that I can see in the latest 1/4 and is what cracked my last rule of not going outside 1/6
btw my signature needs major updating but this is the current part of my setup and noway can be topped by PFs 1/4 etc
Now i would like to know if the excl. Version have any tips or rods coming out of their feer to stick into the base.. if not I might come up with a custom base eventually.. similar to the stair base of the kotobukiyas if we get enough people together
I may bite the bullet and go for the exclusive version as well if you do that.
I was just glad you gave another point of view without the drama so it's much easier to take it objectively
Actually I still need to rearrange it as it is too crowded in the centre for me too but just have not found time yet. I do love the look of proper space for the individual pieces 1/6 or 1:4 and maybe the 1/4 prices will result in just that. My 1/6 collecting has certainly gone rampant and what I used to have in spaced out collection is no more lol
