Why SS split them up on to their own bases is beyond me. :dunno Glad they offered both though, some enjoy them as pristine droids and others, like myself, see them as droids that have seen it all and have the dents to prove it.

Indeed. The weathered look is my preferred way of remembering the two. :rock

Looking forward to see more!

Cool. I know you'll post when it's completed.

Well done... SS should've gone this route

Thanks for the kind feedback guys...hopefully shouldn't take too long before I get some final pics up :)

Look forward to the final pics. Your first base was well done, although it always looked very "marbly." The sneek-peek you have shown looks to have done away with that.
I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Thanks bro :) Yea, not sure what is was that I still wasn't happy with in regards to the original custom base...I guess I'm just obsessed with the kotobukiya display (which was the whole reason why I purchased the EX in the first place) just love that piece ;)

No doubt. The separate circular base looks uncreative and weak.

:lol what gets me the most is that Sideshow had the audacity to name the Exclusive bases as 'Yavin' Themed :slap The base is exactly the same as what they used for their Stormie PF's so I just didn't get it :huh there was nothing remotely 'Yavin' about it....

How do you put batteries on the droids?
What are the issues to look out for?
Pics would help thanks

Thanks guys-they're boxed up, but I'm getting my new collection room together and taking a trip to IKEA this weekend-I thought the base was too large, but just wanted to make sure.

Should fit on the bottom no problem. Because of their shortness in height I put mine on the very top. I would just avoid the glass shelf in the middle all together on account of the weight. Their base is pretty hefty.

For those who own the set, are the metal rods on the top of the hands on C3PO loose I. E. Do they come out? My local dealer has one and I noticed this when he was showing it to me. I wasn't sure so wanted to ask.

They are meant to be moving pieces. Once I got mine set right, they have stayed put just fine.
