Wow, this game is frickin' awesome! I got to play with you guys for a few rounds, and after you all left I played for another 2 hours. I got to level 14 in under 3 hours, I just couldn't put it down.

Quick question, I tried to set my Clan tag to SSF after I got to 12 but it said I was using prohibited text. Do I need to be invited into the clan because it is already set up or am I doing something wrong? Please let me know, oh, and please ad me to the roster in the first post

It's funny, I was sad that everyone stopped playing Halo, and everytime I looked at my friends list, everyone was playing COD4. Though now that I've played it, I know why .

On a side note, no more internet problems for me. After arguing with my cable company for a few hours (for some reason they just didn't care that I had -15 Halo EXP points ), I finally got someone to come out and look and I was right it wasn't me. They replaced my connection out in the street and gave me a brand new surfboard modem and since then my connection has been rock solid, no more drop outs for me.

IT was good to have you join us last night man! A lot of us have neglected Halo since CoD4 came out, but like you said you can see why, this game kicks ass!!

Not sure about the Clan tag, everyone else has added theirs, it's weird that it wouldn't allow it. Did you try using all caps?

one Question! are you trying to write this [SSF]? cuase i did that and it was wrong! then i just wrote SSF and bam! it worked!

Just SSF. I'm looking on charlieoscardelta.com right now to see if there is something going on with it. If I have the error again tonight I'll write down what it says. I remember in Halo I tried many times to set my tag up as R22 and it kept saying something similar, but then a day later it just worked. I'll let you guys know.

I worked so hard to get above 12 last night just for my tag so I was bummed and thought I was doing something wrong. now it looks like it was just a glitch, thanks for your help guys

I have tried creating 5 different ones just to see and NONE

of them work!! Please help me....

I called ACCLAIM yesterday to get the "We're working on it reply."... here is the email they sent me in response...

We tried a few tags that did not work. We are looking into this. For now, try to create a clan name periodically (on a daily basis, for example).

Player cannot create a clan name, gets a denied error message

My friend "LyleTheBastard" also has this problem. We initially thought that it may be taking his gamertag into account and not allowing any clan tags whatsoever simply due to the word friend or something. That was in the beta, and there was already a thread about it, so we didn't make another. Now the game has launched, and he still can't make a clan tag at all... even if the tag is "A" it's still "denied due to prohibited text". Hope this one gets fixed soon

I really hope its not cause of my gamertag

Yeah it looks like it judges the entire Gamertag & Clan tag together to make sure you don't make something offensive. So "Focker" is the "prohibited text" The only reason I got this tag in the first place is because I was a wave 1 xbox live beta tester and the filter wasn't that smart yet. MS updates the filter all the time. People are haiving the problem just cause they have jesus or something like analog in there GT. I really don't want to get rid of my tag... after 5 years I've grown kinda attached to it. But I'm still sad I cant show my freak pride

I didn't have any problem entering SSF as my clan tag. After I put it in it shows it inside parentheses right in front of my gamertag like this: (SSF)JediMike71. I hope it works out for all of you guys, and we can play more COD4 online together!

I agree COD4 seriously ROCKS! I haven't played my Halo 3 game since COD4 came out! I asked all my friends from work who also play it on Xbox 360 online, and none of them have played Halo 3 since COD4 came out! Awesome!

after browsing the COD forums for a while it looks like its a problem for a lot of people. to be honest I'm affraid to call MS because they may make me change my GT. While looking for solutions I found out there is a new update coming out, it might not fix my issue but I'll wait to see if it does before I mess with anyting.

I could change my GT to RogueJedi or something, having a tag since beta is kind cool though. What do you guys think, is my GT cool enough to try and keep it?

Anyway to move on, here is the list of changes in the next update (no date as to when this goes live):

Now if they would just remove the maurter thing or how ever spell it. I am so sick of that. I was playing the free for all thing when i couldnt join games and I ran up knifed a ton of people but boom i die. Its complete bs. I can see if you shoot them , but head shots and knifing should not allow last stand or maurter.

That update for the game sounds pretty cool. Is it happening this weekend? I know the "Live Fire" thing is this weekend where you can play against the developers and win prizes if you beat them. The link is: www.xbox.com/livefire.

I hate the "martyr" thing too where just after you kill a guy, a friggin' grenade goes off and kills you?! That just sucks! I don't even use that. I have been killed many times already by that grenade going off. I am learning now once I kill someone to get as far away from them as I can....just in case!

I like using the "last stand" where you have a chance to kill the guy that shot you with your pistol. It seems a little more fair to me than a grenade going off.
