Well I basically had my reserve set and I was cautious of setting a reserve price because I didn't want to derail bidders but this guy bumps the auction all the way up to see what my reserve was and then retracts it the bid in the last 24 hrs.

What else could I do to make sure that I don't get taken, I've taken pics all around of my MINT Doom but hopefully I don't get what happened to Bodie happen to me. I know about the insurance as a must otherwise the seller is SOL.

You should report him.
These are the only conditions allowed by Ebay for a buyer to retract a bid.
Whether you can retract a bid depends on the circumstances and timing of the bid. You can retract a bid for the following reasons:

*

You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount due to a typographical error. For instance, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this occurs, you must reenter the correct bid amount immediately after you retract your bid. Changing your mind is not a typographical error.
*

The item’s description changed significantly after you entered your last bid. For instance, the seller updated details about the item’s features or condition.
*

You can’t reach the seller by telephone or email.

Another way is to just state your reserve. Or what I do is set a high BIN price and include the Or Best Offer option. That way if someone has the $$ they can BIN=you make out good. Plus, buyers who don't want to spend top dollar can haggle with you w/ obo until an agreement is reached.

Oh, and MAKE SURE YOU POST PICS OF THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE.:banghead:duh
<<< This ******* didn't.:pow

Yeah I got the pics of the base thank god, his reason for retracting the bid was that he entered the wrong amount, yeah like 5 times till you saw what my reserve was

whats with all those Italian buyers ????? I always see on ebay, sellers writing in their description ''will not sell to Italy''.

Are they thieves? The whole country ????:horror

Don't spread stereotypes man........ Every group has thier bad apples...

I will usually just take a negative rather than cave to some sack blast trying a fast one. I have excellent and plentiful feedback and to me when I see a negative here or there in a sea of positives it reflects poorly on the person leaving the negative. Also it displays a little of how the seller reacts when things go a little south. When I see a seller typing back in response to a negative in all caps and being insulting it says to me he/she is not too good when the chips are down.

OMG, the wrong edition number, what a load of horse ^^^^.
i'd tell him to ship it back just because he's a ^^^^in idiot.

I agree with Quad, there are A**holes out there that will look for and find something wrong with anything, If someone is going to be that Anal Retentive they should have ordered it from SSC if not then keep there High Brow to themselfs, Oh was I ranting, so sorry

I truly hate the feeling bro.

As for my Doom on eBay, well in my auction I clearly stated that if you absolutely need something perfect DO NOT bid on this auction and I went out of my way to find something as minuscule as a fragment of a ship on the underside corner for my Doom. So I'm hoping he doesn't find a hair and come screaming.
