Hmmm, E.T. I probably should get around to watching that movie one of these days seeing it's a classic and all.

Spielberg messed up the film by going "politically correct" and using computer graphics to swap out the federal agents' guns for walkie-talkies... What a freakin' loser.
Hey now, when it came time to release the movie on DVD Spielberg still released a *fully restored* transfer of the original theatrical release to coincide with the admittedly lesser Special Edition. Say what you will about the changes but the man has my utmost respect for still allowing a beautiful transfer of the original version to exist in my DVD collection.

Unlike someother bearded director who shall remain neckless... :monkey3

I hated the changes in the 2002 release.

CGI E.T. was just horrible...

Yes, I am SOOOO glad that he gave us the original version on DVD.

THANK YOU!

Hey Gruson, since you have proven in the past to have a nack for getting awesome custom pieces done, is there any chance that you could get a PF Medieval Kurgan made...

I figure we could get a least 20 or people on board to get it made!!!

Seriously, is there any chance you can get this done!?!?!?!

Yep, just make sure the version you watch is the original release. Stay away from anything that says "2002 Special Edition."

With the SW SE's most people liked the new CG X-Wings and such but were bothered by the story/dialogue changes. With E.T. the CGI itself particularly detracts from the movie (and more specifically the charm and believability of the title character, ironically enough.)

But the original release was made available on DVD from the beginning so you shouldn't have too much trouble locating a copy (it was included as a second disc with the Special Edition.)
