I just watched probably the most emotional TV show in my entire life. As some of you know I lost my father to cancer very quickly. He died on July 21st 2006. This teacher was given 3 to 6 months to live and the way he handled the situation with his family and friends not to mention the way he lived his life was very inspirational. Anyways the all powerful Badmoon is in tears tonight. I hope that any of you that have to deal with this horrible disease know that others are out there.

Really is something that few aren't affected by... we have a student an international student at OSU who is trying to raise $100,000 to get a bone marrow transplant... it was supposed to happen a week ago, but the hospital wouldn't do the treatment since she only had 3/4 of the money?!? So on it goes so someone can hopefully survive.

My uncle just got diagnosed with cancer very very recently ( like a week ago ).
He is a very very positive guy though and you would of thought he would of been the last person in the family to get it. Doesn't drink , smoke or anything. Plays alot of sport and is just genuinely happy and positive.
I guess it can hit anyone.

I'm sure your fathers in a much better place Badmoon , sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm around cancer meds all the time and talking with my patients is heartbreaking. Was this the ABC Primetime Live special on tonight? I didn't get to catch it.:monkey2

I hope your uncle wins this battle. I don't feel bad for myself anymore. I have to deal with it every day. When I hear stories of others that have to see what I did though it tears my heart in two.

Yep, I have been crying ever since. :lecture No shame in my game when it comes to this.

Get drunk K man, sometimes it helps.

Others times it can make it worse. I turned into a blubbering baby last time I got drunk and thought about it.

But crying your eyes out helps, sometimes I wish I could do it more often.

Yeah, no shame at all man. I loved the Last Lecture, and think everyone should hear this great man's lecture. I was sad when I heard he died a few days ago.

Thanks guys! It has been a while since my last total breakdown. Tonight did me in. That guy was just such an inspiration. You are right though. We deserve to let it go once in a while. I just wish that we could cure this damned disease soon. Maybe then I could have a cigarrette again. :D

Yes I still have not smoked and that was my attempt at a weak joke. Sorry if I offend anyone. :monkey3

Cancer sucks, Everyone of us is bound to either get it ourselves or witness what it does to a family member or friend. I'm thankful to only have had skin cancer and nothing worse...

Makes toys seem insignificant don't it?

Yeah it does, but simple stuff like toys can make the harder stuff in life a bit more bearable.

So does this board. I found a lot of support here.

Even though Badmoon is and ass, he has a soft side:lol

Thnx K man:rock

Krayt is right it does make toys really not matter. However the King is right too. I really am an ass. :lol

All kidding aside though. I really want people to know that others have gone through this. I quit smoking with this board. I have dealed and am dealing with a death. It is a hard hard world we live in. I am glad I have some of you to fall back on. :duff
