Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I might be jumping ahead here...

...but how would everyone feel if Captain America 3 was an adaption (with some changes) of the "Death of Captain America" storyline?

I think that would be freakin' amazing and such a huge twist for a storyline.

:nono Civil War needs to happen first, and we already know A2 will be Ultron and A3 Thanos which means we're talking about Avengers 4 at the earliest to cover the Civil War storyline. But banishing Hulk at the end of Avengers 4 and having Death of Captain America and Planet Hulk solo films for Phase 5 would certainly be great for setting up WWH taking center stage as the storyline for Avengers 5. :D

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Problem with Civil War is that Spiderman was the pivotal character for the whole of that saga. Second issue is that RDJ will likely not be in the Iron Man role... neither would Evans (unless they both resign)... Still the biggest issue is the lack of Spiderman in teh MCU

Spider-Man can easily be replaced in the Marvel Studios films with another hero. It won't hold as much impact as the comic did, but the entire scenario is easily re-assigned since it's essentially just a hero admitting his secret identity to register and then being Iron Man's lacky in a shiny new suit of armor. RDJ might not be involved anymore at that point, but Rhodes will most likely be in the suit by then and that already sets up a great connection for him wanting to get the heroes to register with SHIELD, given he's a military man.

The biggest issue is there's no secret identities in the MCU. That's the whole issue for the war, Iron Man wanted them to register their real identities and Cap didn't.

The "secret identity" aspect can be traded for SHIELD regulated control. Stark and Rogers could easily have foreshadowed that with the, "that's just it, we're not soldiers" remark in Avengers. This would be the cool role reversal, with Cap breaking away from SHIELD in Winter Soldier and IM (at this point Rhodes), becoming the company man.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

There may be a few upcoming heroes with secret identities... pretty much all of the Hells Kitchen Marvel Knights (soon to be on netflix)

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I know Evans wants a break after the Avengers 3. Bucky being Cap in a sequel would be awesome.

Yea he wants to start directing good for him.

Re: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

Stitch Kingdom posted Disney’s character bios & “fun facts” for Captain America: the Winter Soldier and what they had to say about Sharon Carter is pretty interesting. I'll put it under spoilers tag because some people may not want to read.

“Agent 13 is a young, attractive S.H.I.E.L.D agent with skills in martial arts and weapons whose mission is to guard Steve Rogers — and not let him know it. She is guided by a strong moral compass and is not afraid to speak out when her ethics are challenged.”

Plus, here's Emily VanCamp on this months Elle Canada. :love

So, Evans is definitely in for at least another Cap flick, another Avengers... and then another Cap flick? he also sounds like his "retirement" to directing won't include playing Cap. I think Evans loves being Cap, I hope that doesn't change.

I guess whatever martial arts practice she has been doing for her Revenge scenes will pay off.
