Just can't see Mackie as Cap; all due respect. It's not that he's not a good actor. It's just that trying to have that kind of gravitas or sincerity doesn't seem to be coming naturally. He's better at being quippy. When Pres sez the world needs Cap it's like he's going to laugh in Ford's face.

And what is the name of this, exactly?

I think Mackie can pull off the gravity and sincerity fine, I just don't think his character has ever been interesting enough to center an entire movie around (and even the TV series seemed to struggle with that).

And slapping a Cap shield on him doesn't seem to change that very much, at least from the trailers I've seen so far.

Plus the fact he's a Cap with no super strength, which just seems... weird.
