But Batman wears a cape...and BP is basically Batman...maybe even cooler (since you can't see his face) from the looks of it. :dunno

Yeah, Black Panther = Batman is one of the oldest misconceptions. Right up there with Moon Knight = Batman. And Iron Man = Batman. And Spider-Man = Batman. Basically every character's somehow a rip-off of Batman... Fanboys man...Anyway, Black Panther's only similarity to Batman is that they're both smart and have H2H experience. Nothing else.

Black costume and a mask = batman rip-off
Resourcefulness = batman rip-off
Martial arts = batman rip-off
Parents died = batman rip-off
Young sidekcik = batman rip-off

Pretty much why my money will go to Marvel next year.

Ain't that the truth. No matter how different a character is, the insecure Bat-******* are sure (not the regular Batman fans, I'm talking about the "fanboys", just to be clear) will surely find something that they can classify as a "rip-off from Batman". SMH...

And rich, who loves technology, while wearing a black costume with a cape and pointy ears...oh and his father was killed when he was a kid. Anyway, my original post was referring to his design and why he can wear a cape. :dunno

And rich, wearing a black costume with a cape and pointy ears...oh and his father was killed when he was a kid.

Black Panther:

1) King of the most advanced nation on the planet.
2) Religious.
3) Has enhanced strengh and senses. Usually due to eating a sacred herb.
4) His stories are mostly about political struggles and not about beating up thugs.
5) Always invents his own gear, never relies on anyone else.
6) Is King of the Dead, which means he can command Zombies as of Secret Wars #8.
7) Took on the mantle of the Panther due to tradition, not by just deciding to be a hero one day.
8) His father was assasinated, in order for foreigners to get their hands on the most precious metal on Earth, which is native to Wakanda.
9) Lives to protect his nation but still has a social life.
10) Kills when the time calls for it.

Batman:

1) Rich industrialist.
2) Atheist.
3) Normal human.
4) Mostly about beating up thugs and killers.
5) Mostly invents his own gear, sometimes going overboard with it, but he still relies on other folks from time to time (the recent Nu52 stories are a good example).
6) Became the Batman to avenge his parents.
7) His parents were killed just cause. It was purely random.
8) Lives purely to "cleanse" Gotham.
9) Never kills.

As for the costumes, the Panther's cape is purely ceremonial and he almost never wears it. Only when he's making a sanctioned visit or during a ceremony. As for the "pointy ears", Panthers do have pointy ears, so the Black Panther has pointy ears. And a necklace made out of teeth/skulls. He's a Panther after all.

Really, these arguments never amount to much. Not everything is a Batman rip-off and Batman isn't the high end of comic book characters. There are other, far more unique and interesting fictional people out there.

I'm not arguing :lol All I said is that he looks like Batman (which he does) and thus he can wear a cape in a film...I even called it a royal cape :lol You're the only one who clearly is upset at Batman's popularity and some fans of the character :dunno

Oh, sorry if it came out wrong. I thought you were one of those "Batman's the greatest character in all of fiction" with the "both have X and Y and...". It's just that I've dealt with tons of them who diss every single character (somehow even Spider-Man is a Batman copy) so I tend to get a little "aggresive" when I come accross such comments. Again, sorry.

It's ok :) Seems to me most characters are influenced by other characters. Batman was clearly influenced by Zorro and his costume was a ripoff of The Black Bat, something Bill Finger fanboys forget when they give him sole credit for creating Batman.

Poor Bill deserves some credit though. Damn Kane got everything and threw Finger to the wolves. But yeah, everything's influenced by something else. For example, Deus Ex had some Blade Runner elements, which was in turn an adaptation of a book. Inspiration is a flat circle...

CIVIL WAR: CAPTAIN AMERICA AND FALCON WILL FACE BIG CONSEQUENCES

Captain America: Civil War
RELEASE DATE:MAY 6, 2016

And Thaddeus Ross sure failed upwards!

BY JIM VEJVODA
More details from a new cover story on Captain America: Civil War have been revealed so be advised of some SPOILERS ahead.

According to Entertainment Weekly, William Hurt's Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross is no longer a general but now U.S. Secretary of State, which is a pretty great career upswing for a man last seen getting drunk after his secret program's monster Abomination ran amok in a major American city in The Incredible Hulk. We learn Ross wants Cap and Falcon prosecuted for something that went down in Romania.

Although EW doesn't say so, we can presume the Romanian trouble was Cap and Falcon liberating the Winter Soldier and all the ensuing mayhem seen in the new trailer.

https://m.ign.com/videos/2015/12/02...n-act-from-captain-america-civil-war-ign-newsIThe article reveals Black Panther's alter ego T'Challa is on hand for this meeting as are Iron Man, Black Widow, and Martin Freeman's unnamed government attache who was glimpsed in the trailer. The consequences for Cap and Falcon's actions in Romania? Here's a description of the scene as observed by EW:

"'I’m not getting that shield back, am I?' Cap says. Black Widow walks ahead, joining Stark. 'Technically it belongs to the government. Wings, too,' she says. 'That’s cold,' Falcon says. Stark spins on his heel as the two walk away with T’Challa. He flashes a tight, unpleasant smile. 'Warmer than jail!' he says."

What do you think of Cap and Falcon's fellow Avengers bringing the hammer down on them?

Well to be fair everyone ripped off batman with the sidekick angle. Nobody else thought of that until batman had robin then everyone started having a sidekick from dc to marvel.

IMO tho black panther looks way more intimidating than batman and I love batman.

No matter how hard DC tries all of Batman's sidekicks will always be lame, ie; not Batman!

But nah, Affleck Batman more menacing looking than BP.

Not that BP doesn't look bad ass, he does.

My rankings:

Concept Art Black Panther > Batfleck

Batfleck > Live Action Black Panther

Classic Batman > Classic Black Panther

King of the Dead Black Panther >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nu52 Batman
