I have never watched a DBZ anything!

:lol Me either.

I got sucked into Batman Begins on IFC so I went ahead and popped in the blu-ray to watch it in the correct aspect ratio with no commercials. That film really does reign supreme along with the three Cap movies for me. I know BB tends to get lost in the exaggerated "greatness" of TDK and exaggerated failure of TDKR but I still think it's the best of the trilogy and arguably the best made film of all cbm's. Such a satisfying resolution. Bruce triumphs as Batman against Ra's, triumphs as a businessman against Rutger Haur, even has Rachel apologizing for being a ***** when he brought a gun to shoot Chill. She tells him his dad would be proud, that she is proud, and even though they don't live happily ever after Bruce still takes it like a man, lets it go, and is even able to smile at her when saying that he plans to rebuild his manor before she heads off. Then to cap off the three satisfying resolutions you get that awesome send off with the bat signal and Joker card. As great as Affleck was it's hard to imagine BB ever being topped as a standalone film.

BB doesn't get enough credit for giving us a good cinematic Gordon, especially when compared to the previous version. JK Simmons has a tough task ahead of him...although I'm sure as soon as the new film comes out people will forget about Oldman's Gordon, and JK will be the "definitive version" since the Nolan's Batman get so much online hate these days.

Gordon has a very strong and commanding presence and Oldman felt like... just some cop.
He looked great in the role but the character was mostly boring.
And "Da Dork Knight Rises" ruined him completely.

I agree it was kind of a waste having Oldman as Gordon. Didn't really take advantage of his skills. At least Freeman got to do the lolz.

Gordon was at best just an average "good" in BB/TDK.

Some scenes he was really silly while others very good so it averages out to a good.

Definately much better than 89 - B&R.

TDKR was pathetic.

no way, oldman kills it as Gordon. Gordon was a great character in those movies, "I have to save dent!!" one of my favorite moments in cbm history.

Gordon literally stopped the bomb from blowing up the city in TDKR, as opposed to going after the wrong guy and almost killing a bunch of innocent people in TDK. :dunno TDKGORDON = Pathetic

That was a god line. He said, "We have to save Dent....I....HAVE TO SAVE DENT!" He felt guilty for what happened to Dent :monkey2

oh I know hahah. Gives me chills every time. also I find the disdain for tdkr to be quite humorous. I thought it was a great ending to the trilogy and just looked it up, it has 87% on rotten tomatoes!

Gordon's closing TDK narration > anything Gordon related in TDKR.

It's an iconic speech, I'll give you that, but he had some very good moments in TDKR, like his Bruce Wayne eulogy and when Batman reminds him of what he did for him when Bruce was a child, and they show a quick scene of a "young" Gordon and Bruce from Batman Begins. Also the Batman statue scene and Gordon's reaction to it, and when he finally sees the fixed Batman signal, all very good moments.

that quick flashback was great with the shot straight from begins. Its moments like that which make the trilogy one of the greatest.

Agreed with everything that has been said about Oldman, it's gonna be hard for JJJ to replace him, he was as perfect as Gordon, as JK Simmons was for JJJ.

Except in Rises, he was pretty dumb in Rises.
