LOL, all agreement.

I think alot of trouble is created when people espouse Truth for what is a Belief.

Opinions are another example of what can never be truth.

I just prefer to use the word Fact , because its a much stricter definition that takes out all the subjectivity of beliefs and opinions.

One can say a God exists and it Fact and they would be wrong.

They can say its true and be correct for certain parameters and definitions.

Fact requires proof, Truth may or may not require proof in the above cases.

That is an excellent point. Well stated. Religious beliefs are the perfect example of where "truth" and "fact" can in fact differ.

As Khev stated though a few pages back, the only certainty is that one person is wrong and the other isn’t, or that they’re both wrong. In other words, one is telling the truth and one isn’t, or neither are. There’s no such thing as conflicting truth. If one person believes in God and the other doesn’t, you both can’t be making an accurate assertion. Truth is absolute and doesn’t care about one’s personal feelings, beliefs, or emotions.

The truth is based on facts that can be corroborated or verified, and then one’s opinion or belief can simply either be based on those facts or not be based on those facts, or how they’re interpreted. From there, we can then make an assessment as to the value of those opinions.

After another strong weekend Captain Marvel is now at 1.1 billion dollars. Not bad for a movie that no one likes.

Or even wen to allegedly.

The nay-sayers have a theory that Disney cooked the books. Buying out empty theaters, etc. Sounds like utter rubbish until you factor in just how much money they have to burn, and how when they want something? They get it.

I for one know two people that actually paid to see this...my 70-somethign parents. I'm sure that made a big splash in the $1billion total; a couple of seniors going to see a Monday matinee.

I saw this twice in different theaters. Both showings were packed during it's opening weekend.

Thinking Disney is paying for its own tickets to maintain some rep or agenda is tin foil hat, russian bot, troll stuff....

Disney is a publicly traded company. They do something like that someone is going to jail and the damage to the brand would be in the billions. Basically it makes no sense for them to do it.

You have been obsessively stalking my posts and posting negative responses for over a year now. Doesn't that cross into harassment territory?

Whichever way you slice it...for at least the next day or so Captain Marvel sits behind only Black Panther and the 3 Avengers movies prior to Endgame as the number 5 all time MCU release box office wise. Regardless of the factors...proximity to Endgame...etc...a hit is a hit. Not my favorite MCU movie by any means but it would be a bit silly at this point for anyone to attempt to dispute that the movie...complete with any real or imagined Brie Larson baggage was another huge success for Marvel. I knew that it would be big in spite of Internet Trolls letting Larson hurt their feelings but I did not imagine all time top 5 MCU movies.

The Transformers movies were also all huge hits, but like this film received mixed reviews at best from critics and audiences alike and were generally forgotten about in all cases but discussions about how far Hollywood has fallen.

Yeah well, BO success isn't always a good gauge for a movie's quality, but it certainly makes investors happy.
At any rate, I don't see this being anywhere nearly as divisive as TLJ or having any detrimental effect on how the MCU moves forward. Sure, some folks took issue with Larson's comments, and others took issue with the actual quality of the movie, but by and large, the response seems very positive.

I going to Endgame tonight, and I'm looking forward to see how Captain Marvel works alongside the rest of the crew.

Not well. In the 20 or so minutes of the film she's in, she mostly just acts smug and condescending towards the rest of the avengers. Most of her fight scenes just show off how ridiculously overpowered she is, and even seems unphased by direct hits from Thanos. It takes a direct hit from the power stone to even make her flinch.

I cant wait for Captain Marvel 2. With no more Avengers movies coming Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy are the big movies going forward in the MCU.

I liked this movie...didn't love it but I liked it. I do know some people who really loved it though. If we are going to try to "measure" critical success we would have to go with the aggregate critical scores on Rotten Tomatoes where CM is certified "fresh" with a strong 78%. You may be off base by comparing it to the Transformers movies from a critical standpoint...those films' scores go as low as 15% with the highest one being a dismal and "rotten" 57%. Those are problems that CM does not have. By ALL accounts Captain Marvel is a commercial and critical success...sorry to have to be the bearer of that bit of bad news.

Agreed. It seemed like she was barely in it. And for the minimal time she was, she essentially just derided the remaining group for losing and demonstrated how that apparently the only thing more powerful than her in the entire universe, is the Infinity Stones. Other than bringing Stark and Nebula back, she felt kind of forced in.

I haven’t seen CM yet and just after seeing her minimal screen time in EG, my first impression is the character portrayal just doesn’t feel very “warm” or endearing. Like she’s apathetic and devoid of any emotion. Perhaps that’ll change once I see CM, but my first impression just based on her demeanor in EG isn’t favorable.

Thanos doing a Ralph Kramden on her was one of the highlights of the EG. Pow.....Zooom! ....Outta the film!!!

Enjoy your trip Captain!!!!!

You and I agree,:duff around 900m was my guess, edging out WW world wide, But Dianna just might hold on to the domestic
crown.

Wrong on both counts. Already 200 million over your guess of 900 million and also ahead of Wonder Woman.
