My son is getting one for his birthday as well. I am already settling back in to accepting that at least I will get a few spare parts after he trashes it. I am hoping to teach him to treat the figure like the collectible piece that it is, but he is 12 and I wont be able to watch him every second.

Alter Ego completed my order...that usually means I have a 5 day or less wait before Rex will be on my porch (depending on weather this week, argh)

isn't there an age limit or something like that on the box that says these should be for ppl above 15? I'm not trying to be the collectible police :lol but to trash Rex should be a crime! :slap :lol

but hey, I would've loved a Captain Rex like this when I was 12:yess:

I bought a ton of hasbro 12" figures for my son and he doesn't play with them at all, only the 3 3/4" figures. I was crushed.

great gift for your son. hopefully he doesn't destroy it. i would have loved this guy when i was 12. that's about when i started displaying my toys instead of playing with them. GI Joes got posed on the dresser instead of having living room wars.

Not sure what the psychology behind it is, but kids don't really care for the larger-sized action figures. I know at that age I much preferred the smaller GI Joes myself as well.

Looking forward to receiving my figure--Captain Rex is probably favorite clone. :)

up until a couple years ago, 12" = doll to me:monkey4

Does anyone else have a problem with putting the Rex head on. The helmet is ok but I can not get his head on. The neck is bigger than the hole in the head so I it seems I can not get the ball to reach up enough and snap.

I started displaying a bit earlier. not 12" though. For a while I was ONLY about Transformers. always kept the box and everything they come with and still do. Most of my transformers still look new with tight joints and all! and these are from like 10yrs ago! I was never much for playing but collecting was always there.

anywhoo, back on topic, still waiting on my Rex :( think it got delayed b/c of the bad weather we're having. but Ventress and CW Anakin are on there way :yess:

I used a hair dryer, heated up the Rex head and then I put the head on.

I was born in '67 and in the 70's 12" GI Joe was a staple (along with Mego 8") so I just started collecting them before he was old enough to play with them.

The good news is that Rex will be here on Thursday!

I just got an email saying my waitlist for the exclusive version will convert. Kind of on the fence about canceling. I can just go to my LCS and buy it for $120 with tax instead $140-50. For those with the exclusive version, is that stand worth the extra money?

i'd say no the stand is not worth the extra money.
