Interesting thread. I actually like the old SideShow Original figures.

Like their Brotherhood of Arms figures:

Universal Monsters were cool, ie Nosferatu and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Crazy Horse from their Six Gun Legends line also stand out.

Probably either Evil Dead Ash or Zartan for me. Both very well done and not so out of place on display with ht figures. Not something I can say about most ssc figures. The universal Frankensteins were also quite good.

Wondered why no Joes made the list

I have a lot of the Sideshow Civil War figures, including the cannon. Great stuff, but I do wish someone would pick up the Universal Monsters, Twilight Zone, and Outer Limits (with a little Night Gallery thrown in) and do more modern quality takes on them.

When SS released the Joe line, something happened with the sculpts, they started to become cartoonish so I never got into them. I did get Cobra Commander and even he looks a little cartoonish in the eyes.

They are suppose to look a bit cartoonish.....Cobra Commander is another great one Sideshow did

Every time I see a Sideshow figure I imagine how much better it would be if another company had made it instead...except with their 1/6 Jabba the Hutt! A perfect figure that I do not think anyone could really improve...

You're right, Jabba is near perfect. He could use a little bit more shine or wet slimey look I think. He sure does display great!

Unique choice on Bossk.

One I don't disagree with. I remember when I first got him, it felt very Hot Toys-esque. There was a distinct weight to the figure, literally. It felt solid, and it had heft to it. The outfit was nicely, subtly weathered. They did a great job on it.

I know those "top-ten" lists only exists to make some trouble, lol. Honestly I think did actually produce couple of great figuers, no doubt on that. While this list might be created with little personal preference, I couldn't believe Darth Maul on Naboo didn't make the cut, should've at least made honorar mentions. I'm not a SW fan and I bought the figure, I don't if it isn't selling good but personally it was a must purchase for me. Good list tho.

I was surprised that General Grievous was omitted. Say what you will about the prequels, the figure must have been a nightmare to design. I didn't think the figure cold be done, back in the day, and yet it turned out very well... all things considered.

Agreed on the engineering and he looks pretty good (although they did not get the 'hunch' right). I never got it after reading about the cape bleeding red on the shoulders, shame.
