I've been under the weather the last three days, so getting out a review last night was out of the question. But I did manage to put together my latest Captain Toy Picks... and it is a follow up to last week's. Once again I'm looking at my top ten disappointments in sixth scale, but this time it's over $100 instead of under. I suspect that everyone will have a VERY different list, creating some interesting conversations. Mine is here - what's yours?

Luckily neither one of my ED-209 figures ever deteriorated much... *knocks on wood

The new one is perfect and the original only ever had a bit of cracking near the edges, unlike some I saw where the whole top came apart. But the new one is easily one of my favorite pieces, I just wish I'd known it would tank in value or I wouldn't have paid retail for him or Robocop :lol

But, my biggest 1/6 disappointment would be the original Aliens Warrior from Hot Toys... even though the figure was pretty innaccurate overall, I was still willing to buy and initially was pretty happy with the figure. But those damn clear pastic joints started to crack and give way leaving me with a rag doll, or even worse a rag doll with limbs that would simply drop off the figure. Total POS and a figure that still bums me out to this day :lol

Looks like the new one is a major improvement all around, but I've decided to just stick with the original film to save money and shelf space.

Selene made your list before getting your "replacement" headsculpt? That's savage Michael. :lol

I'm not sure there was ever a more poorly handled line than Watchmen.

WOW on how narrow Gandalf the White's head looks in that pic. I don't follow Asmus' LOTR line, so that's the first time I've really seen it.

The fact that still no one has nailed the perfect Indiana Jones release to this day depresses me. Hopefully with the new film someone might delve back in.

Yeah as far as disappointments go, I think I'd definitely put the HT Indy on the list. It may have been a nice set otherwise, but the headsculpt was the most important part and it barely even looked like him.

I'd also include the Sideshow Superman with the giant and out of proportion head, and the two Sideshow Vaders with completely inaccurate masks and ridiculously tall bodies.

Hot Toys

-Robocop's final paintjob was nice but very inaccurate to the movie (a major shame because the prototype looked dead-on)
-ED-209 2.0 using rubber again despite years of documented deterioration on the first release
-MMS238 BD T-800 (heads too big, likeness not particularly good, clothing options too limiting among other things)
-QS002 Endoskeleton (all manner of inaccuracies in the sculpt ruin my enjoyment of a well-engineered figure, paintjob is too bright aswell)

HT indy Was the first thing that popped into my head. Then SS Green Lantern with that cosplay outfit.

I have Crow, Silk Spectre, Davy Jones (agree he's small, but love the figure), Snake (Bad figure), and Nathan (I like him, but will redo the sculpt/paint one day).

Yeah, I totally disagree on the Daley jones. He's pretty cool. And any figure going for $700 on eBay can't be all bad.

Took me a long while to get him too. Was really pleased when I finally did because he's different compared to usual Hot Toys etc, short or no.

I would list 'anything Medicom' in that list.

Medicom Snape sculpt is FAR better than the Star Ace one. I also have Rocketeer (he's cool and one of my favs), both the Mad Haters too (they're fun), Medicom Jack is "Meh", but the mixed Eneterbay/Medi one I have is better, Harry is terrible, and I have Henry Jones just because- Well, just because :)

Enterbay Big Boss ?

Sadly I was kind of expecting it to be underwhelming and it met my expectations. I was more disappointed with God v2, what with those googly eyeballs and suss body - I'll add that one to the list.

My ED209 is still holding up well and I have a soft spot for The Crow...he still displays well with the bird on his shoulder. :D

Just off the top of my head and not a full count of ten: Nathan Drake and Snake Plissken from Sideshow, Mad-Eye Moody and Severus Snape from Star Ace, and Jon Snow from Threezero. I also agree that Asmus' Gandalf the White and Hot Toys' Indy DX were letdowns. My ED-209 is still in the box, so I don't know if there's any degradation.

Drake was the worst for me. I loved the Uncharted games and was greatly anticipating that figure. It's one of the few figures I bought where I pulled it from the box and said to myself, "What is this ****?" I still buy Sideshow figures (preferably figures with non-human likenesses), but Sideshow will never live that Drake garbage down and the collecting community will never forget it if I have anything to say about it.
