how did you do the mask part of the helmet.it really looks like the real deal.

Thanks man. I actually cutout a pattern for the mask made from a plastic gift bag. I then had some latex gloves laying around. I then covered the mask with the latex and glued the mask into place. I then sprayed it white with flat paint. When it dries, it leaves wrinkles as the latex constricts. It adds a lot to it I think.

Hey Boba, you can also have a look at my Snowtrooper over here ...
Chaka, thank you for those pics, the plastic is looking sofa kingreat, just like real fabric, right from the ESB scenes ... Um, would you do some boots for me? Or a more detailed WIP?

No problem man. I am actually doing another trooper as we speak. I will do some better WIPs this time. What I use is Endor Soldier boots, elastic strips and latex glove bits. The boots take a bit of time to do, so keep that in mind.

Thanks guys. I have finished the boots on my 2nd Snowtrooper but have not had time to post WIP pictures.

I took loads of pics, hopefully I will have time to post them this
weekend. However, I think the wife may have other plans. :D

Great work- love the mask- might try it

Would your decal chap be selling any more?

Thanks mate. I got the decals from Mark at Patchesofpride.com. He doesnt have the Imperial decals listed, but has them available. Just shoot him an email and I am sure he will hook you up. :)

I have begun work on a 2nd Hoth Stormtrooper. Some of you wanted me to show some WIP pictures so here you go.

First I took the Hasbro armor, filled in all the holes with sculpy and sprayed them flat white. I also sprayed the troopers trousers..

I then began on the boots. SSC Endor Trooper boots and elastic strips cut to the size that looks to scale.

I then cut up a 3-4 pairs of laytex gloves. I glue the first piece of laytex to the top and along the bottom of the sole of the boot, stretch it towards the back and glue there. After glue has dried, take a hobby knife and trim laytex off the bottom sole of the boot along the sides and back.

I then wrap a couple more pieces around the ankle and then glue the first elastic band in place.

more to follow....

Okay, more on the boots. I take some glue and then run it above the bottom elastic strip. I fold and glue the next laytex along the top of it.

14.jpg

I then apply the middle elastic band....

15.jpg

Repeating the same process as above. I run glue along the top of the middle elastic band and attach another piece of laytex. I then do the same for the upper elastic band..

Once all three elastic pieces are in place, I add the top piece of elastic and fold it so it looks like the top of the boot. I then add a couple more layers to the foot portion of the boot to give it some depth and then spray the whole boot white....

After this, repeat the same process for the 2nd boot. Here is a shot after completing the 2nd boot.

I then cut small paper tips and place them on the ends of the elastic after elastic trimmed to length desired. I then spray the boots with more paint. Here are the two sets side by side when finished.

It is so cool how an idea & the simplest materials can be applied to create visually effective & fantastic parts for customs!Very well done Chris.

nice pic of the jabba palace scene & great wips on the snowies.....you are really setting the bench mark of the look of these guys......:clap

Thanks Barry, Ron. I appreciate it. :)

My plan is to have 2 troopers and 1 commander to go with my General Veers. I have already started gathering bits for the Snowtrooper commander, I just need to get my head around the helmet.
