Need a new drinking mug for your brewski? Then the Chalice of Kali might be just for you! Sideshow's latest prop replica is from the Temple of Doom, done up in 1:1 scale.

I also have a guest review from Jeff Parker of the very cool Battle Suit Jill Valentine from Hot Toys. You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading, and have a terrific weekend!

This is probably one of those questions you not supposed to ask, but how does the blood get INTO the Chalice?? I figured there'd be a hole in the back of the skull or something. And going from that point, how does the blood stay in the Chalice?? It looks like anything that sits in there would just run right out of the tongue.

Ahhh, movie magic. . .

Not so much movie magic..

just a really inaccurate replica we got! lol.
I love it, but yeah, the mouth is sculpted all sorts of wonky. And the chalice itself? holy cow.. that thing is.. well.. it's off for sure.

Still.. I don't care. I love it! :)

There wasn't any hole in the prop either that I know of - it's a solid skull except for the obvious hole where it normally attachs to the spine. But the liquid would be below the head in the chalice, so if you poured it into the mouth, it wouldn't run back out until you tipped the head all the way forward. Makes sense to me...

There probably should have been a hole/opening behind the tounge at the back of the mouth. I was disapointed most by this with mine. More so than the paint. While I would not want to put liquid in it it should look as though you could.

Yeah, I simply meant that unlike the movie prop, where liquid came out of the chalice and down the "tongue".. this replica is just one big solid item, with a very shallow mouth opening. Really though, I don't want to imagine the price if sideshow had tried to do more than one part of this thing..
