Just wanted to share these here too...Thanks to JOhnny for the AMAZING paint-up. Will try to share more photos of all 3 Marty version paint-ups soon too. JOhnny knocked these out of the park! :bow :bow :bow

Apologies for the graininess of these photos, took them really quick with my crap phone camera. Will put up better shots once I have him properly futzed, but here he is so far! Rainman gear, Trev sculpt, paint-up by JOhnny! this is an AWESOME figure. So happy I got in on this!!! :rock :rock :rock

(I know, the hands look HUGE! I think I'll have to invest in some of those 'Bruce Lee' hands for proper scale! :lol)

Those illustrations are killer!! Really like em!

The sculpts look awesome too. Maybe it's the pics, but the Ernie, Denzel, Smith & Jackson sculpts look like they are all the same complexion? Those brothers vary wildly in degrees of brown skin tone. For instance, Ernie is much darker than Smith and Jackson is slightly darker than Denzel.

Like I said, maybe it's the camera washing the pics out a little. All the sculpts look recognizable but if the complexions looked more varied, it would pop just that much more.

:peace

HAHA! Thanks man. :hi5:

Thought maybe you were just ripping on that hack JOhnny's paint apps instead of my MARVELOUS putting-together of costume! :wink1:

That he's not the only one who paintd it :lol :panic:

Looks really nice! Love this sculpt.

Thanks Riddick! :)

Trev NAILED this sculpt and JOhnny NAILED the apps. :yess:

Every time I walk by the shelf I can't help but stop and stare at this guy. A true grail for me and the tireless work of not 1, not 2, but THREE super-talented individuals! :bow

Oh, and I agree with Lee in MI above, the illustrations are AMAZING JOhnny! Keep it up and keep 'em coming! :clap

Re: [Cheungkinmen's Workbench] ~ (From sculpting to painting) ~UPDATED POST #742

Thanks guys :)

@Lee : I understand what you mean, the camera does not help me that much. Anyways, sometimes you have to get away with coloring darker skin toned guys a lighter tone because it sometimes does not work in 1/6 scale. Human skin tone reacts differently against light, it shows a great palette of details and tones, in a painted collectible it does not. So I came to a common ground on the skin tones based on different pics of each one of them and worked around it.

An example of Ernie's different skin tones in different lightnings/set ups:

I chose the middle ones. The Ernie I painted and everyone of those are darker in hand, anyways. I guess I wasn't born to use a camera, haha, but those who have my work in hand knows it's different from the pictures, good different ? dunno, but it's different :p .

I hear you bro. Being Black makes me more acute to it I guess. Plus I've seen ole Ernie and I know that brotha is dark! Lol!

I hear you about coloring as well. I've done some architectural renderings and it took some practice to really depict true colors that make up what you see.

Plus I know for sure your stuff is on point so no worries.

HEY LOOK!! 1500 post!

Re: [Cheungkinmen's Workbench] ~ (From sculpting to painting) ~UPDATED POST #742

Ok, before you guys say something, I bought a light tent mini studio to take better pics of my sculpt, paint jobs, etc. I'm still tweaking with this, so I hope I achieve better photography. The only photoshop manipulations I did was removing the stand that I use to hold the sculpts, also to bring the sculpt colorwise as close to what I see in person as possible, but somehow blogspot enhances the color a bit more than I want, and that's it.
