I just caught this film today. Amazing! It has been a long time since I've been to the movies where at the film's end and when the lights came up the audience actually just sat there for a moment...stunned.

Curon is a truly gifted filmmaker, rendering a tale that while on the surface may look like just another sci-fi "cautionary" tale, is really much more.

The actors are excellent, the camera work makes it feel intense and immediate, the music is intregal (from the eclectic mix of pop/rock/rap to the ethereal tones provided by John Tavener's beautiful compositions), and Curon generates images that will stay with you and a story with ideas that will make you think and want to talk about it. He doesn't beat you over the head with any one thing, and the most disturbing or elating moments are just that...moments. It begs to be seen again to absorb all the detail in both the story and visually that is almost impossible to get the first time...

An important, terrific time at the movies...it's so good to see something amazing that isn't attached to a franchise or has a number after it....

Check it out!

I am tempted to see this movie, Cuaron is a great filmaker i like his work better than Iñarritu so i think ill see it in the next week before they remove it from the cinema

Cuaron is definitely a director that will enter the pantheon of great filmmakers. I also thought this an excellent film.

I have a little problem with the marketing though - comparing it to Blade Runner is completely misleading and just wrong.

totally agree. The film work and techniques were superb. IMO, the story was original but could have been much better.

I saw the film tonight and liked it. I am sad to say that you freaks ruined the movie alittle for me by building it up so much. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a cool but I guess I was expecting more after hearing from so many that it was the best movie of the year.

That is true. The plot was VERY VERY simplistic and straightforward. Which I think added to the realism of the film. I admit that I had never heard of cuaron until he did the third harry potter film, but I have gone back and watched his lexicon of films, and he is indeed a great director.

Excellent film. This was one movie that blew me away. I rate this high next to The Prestige.

This film floored me.... Just an amazing piece of work. Everyone with a pulse should take the time to go and see it.

Now if I can only manage to see Pan's Labyrinth I'll be a happy man. :D

YOu will be SO happy when you see it, I sure was. Del Toro even introduced the movie to the audience, I was in heaven...

Just saw Children of Men, and I thought it was pretty good, although the ending was rather sudden I think. Amazing camera work, it really was a great movie. It kind of seemed like Half-Life 2, just the whole atmosphere where it's the future and yet the world is in shambles.

You know, you are the second person I have heard compare CoM to Half-Life 2. Now that I think about it, it is fairly similar in that respect (but you know, no aliens :chew).
