ll he just gave me a tracking number via ebay messaging...

for the ones who dont know he claims that he cant respond through normal emails.

LC570124646US .... according to him its suppose to register by tomorrow evening.

Hey GatackFC, any update on your shipment? Is it "moving" as per that tracking number?

well, lets discredit the validity of my opinion here because i am a noob.

Ummm... I was never aware an opinion needed to be validated? Why do you feel the need to be validated?

I guess that means you will not accept my friend request. :monkey2

i have been reading the threads, thats the point, no one should be complaining about the "time frame", as there were not deadlines set to begin with, in fact, all were warned they would take time.
the complaint all should have with howes is the lies qabout delivery, which is most of the complaints, but you cannot justify your position on that by making more lies.

this forum deals with figures...hmmmm...WITH RESIN HEADS! which is why i was here, to buy resin heads and scratch build the rest.

it was your veterans, such as capt dan, that brought howes here in the first place.

dont make the assumption because i am a "noob" that i havent been reading the threads?
I say "noob" because you are relatively new here and your post count is strictly in howes based threads. ALL of the "noobs" also keep relying on the no specific date was set argument. They keep missing that howes has ignored refund requests, not updated most of his projects, sold items that were commissioned by board members on ebay rather than send them out here, came up with the whole RUSSIAN SPAMMER ruse, while all the defenders seem to have no problem emailing him (maybe because he just emails himself?) And, captdan was discredited, as diver4 arecaster who howes seems to live in fear of. How could he have brought howes here?

Sooooo, now you ARE a noob?

I am getting tired of the noobs with no stake in this whatsoever chiming off about the open ended deadline or timeframe issue. Chris Howes negated that when he started selling House heads on eBay without ever delivering them to the people who commissioned the sculpt and paid for them last year. Why are all the people who are clamoring for facts and calling us liars ignoring that one salient fact. He is not delivering the heads to the people who commissioned the sculpt and paid first but is selling them on eBay to Johnny-Come-Latelies. That is a fact that is constantly being ignored by all these single post count truth seekers who only (supposedly) want to deal in fact.

i never counter pointed that chris had lied, just the fact someone was 18 months out from payment.
you cant complain howes lied and back the staement with a lie, no doubt alot of people here have reasons to be ticked off.

you did not counter my statement, you merely dismissed it, in an open forum, by referring to me as a noob.

thats my point.

how tenured would i have to be for my staements to have validity?

and yes, captdan, aka diver4, was the individual who pointed chris to these forums.

it started when i was bidding agaisnt diver4 on ebay for a borg queen, through research, i found chris, and in turn, let him know who purchased it. diver4 sent him scans of the COA and other paperwork which credited some unknown asian sculptor with the work, which offended chris enough to decide to sell some castings of these sculpts. diver4 extensive ebay sales of heads is what brought chris here, so even though i am a noob, i am totally aware of the situation.

I have not gotten any money back or any replies of the countless emails and PM's I have sent chris. He says he would never rip anyone off and that anyone that paid would get the item but it has been almost 3 months for an item that has already been completed, and nothing.

you joined when howes did, are you past the noob probabtionary period.
i do have a stake in mr howes works, i paid out 450 in may of 2008.
i have also got heads from him.
i came to these forums looking at the amount of commissions going on, knowing it was part of the reason my stuff had not been done.

how much money do you have in mr howes pocket?

This whole situation (as they usually do) has just gotten to the point of being annoying and stupid. The entire tone of the board has changed because of this crap and this above all else makes me sad. This whole situation has been argued to death by both sides and currently it is deadlocked. The whole thing about "I am not coming back because it is just to negative and etc" is a load of huge stinking ^^^^. Bottom line is YOU f'ed up now YOU fix it. I get behind on things myself , and I come and say hey I screwed up or underestimated how long it would take or I got busy at work, but I will fix it. Thats it. Thats what is takes. I don't say hey if you want the best quality on the planet, then you will just have to wait in line for my greatness. Thats the one thing that always bothered me was the attitude that we (The board) should be so honored that he would even consider gracing us with his presence, and how gratefull we should be that he works for us for "a ridiculously low fee"... That is BS. I have worked with many sculpters over the years and even the highest level of perfessional ones rarely act like that. I know that some people have said they are surprised that other artists don't defend him more, well the answer to that is he has pretty much spit in all their faces. I meant if he says "You won't find better quality anywhere else for what I offer", and my personal favorite "I sometimes forget people are used to dealing with other peoples sculpts that are really rough and they call finished, so they think that my wip shots look good enough" How else can you take that. Plain and simple the guy has zero respect for any of us and now that we dare question his greatness he is done with us. He comes hear and talks about how hostile it is and "I was just dropping by to post an update then I saw all this". If you hate the situtation then GOD DAMMIT DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Don't run and hide and use other people to relay messages. I really stay out of this as much as possible but it really is bringing a negative vibe and a place I used to love coming and hanging out with people and sharing work with. I know customs are a huge amount of work and can totally overwhelm you at times but if you took the money for something than you have a commentment to do something about it. And Chris has said countless times "I know it seems like I am taking on alot, but I am a professional..." Well if that statment is true then be a professional and step up. Personally I can't believe it took this long to come to this, but the whole situation was weird from the start.

If I'm not mistaken you called the veterans here liars when it was captdan/diver4, the man you credit with bringing howes here, who gave the 18 month time frame.
I am curious though how bidding on an ebay item prompted research that led you to contact howes and then arrive here? Almost as curious as to why howes would come here because of diver 4? Then, ultimately, refuse to return because of him as well?

just read previous post:

the only counter point i made was nobody was out for 18 months.
howes wasnt selling anything 18 months ago.
every point about lying about delivery and etc. is completely valid, as i stated, i paid out 450 in may of 2008, and i started watching these threads because i knew the custom work was part of the reason i had not recieved my pieces. for the record, the pieces i bought then were already sculpted, just needing casted. i have heard all the same reasons you guys have.

when i did a web search on howes and star trek resin, thats how i found this site.

18 months was an exaggeration on my part. Sorry. I agree that the longest wait was probably mentioned by captndan. My personal payment was made 10/08/08 so over 9 months for me.

I'm getting tired of talking about this and logging on every day thinking there might be news.

The money isn't an issue. For me it was really not very much money at all. I guess some would say you get what you pay for. Others would say at the cheap rate he can take as long as he wants. for me personally, I probably could have waited a lot longer if only others were receiving their stuff. I could have waited longer if I didn't already know he was finished with the item and inexplicitly not mailing them out. I could have waited longer if I didn't know he was selling finished product on ebay rather than sending them to people that paid.

I really feel hosed. I'm embarrassed that someone I met on this community would do that to me and a lot of other people, a few of who I consider friends.

Finally I feel bad that it escalated to a point where we are fighting with one another. Frankly, I want to say I think its embarrassing that people here defended his behavior and excuses. I also think its sad that indeed the mob mentality has affected me because I see how my mind made the issue bigger. I started to forget whether it was $20, $30 of $40 he owed me. I started exaggerating the length.

So before I'm consumed in bitterness, I'm going to try my best to not follow this drama so closely anymore.

apparently captdan was not the only "veteran" to state 18 months?

Let's get past the "18 months" idea. It's a distraction that doesn't have anything to do with the core issues here.

the 18 month issue is the ONLY counterpoint i offered;

it was meant to be constructive input to the thread.

guys(and gals)

no doubt there is a major issue of poor buisness practices here.
i have a regular 40, and i do contract work as well.
i have never charged or recieved a dime from one of my customers without delivery to their complete satisfaction first. i even allow 30-60-90 days to pay, after i invoice, which is only at the end of the month. some of my customers are at or near 120 days before payment.

i am trying to put together a release of my first kit production this fall.
sculpted by a third party, casted by a third party. i am footing the bill for the first run. there will be no request for payment until items are complete and ready to ship, period! and my items will ship within 24 hours of receiving cleared payment.

does this clarify my position?
