guys(and gals)

no doubt there is a major issue of poor buisness practices here.
i have a regular 40, and i do contract work as well.
i have never charged or recieved a dime from one of my customers without delivery to their complete satisfaction first. i even allow 30-60-90 days to pay, after i invoice, which is only at the end of the month. some of my customers are at or near 120 days before payment.

i am trying to put together a release of my first kit production this fall.
sculpted by a third party, casted by a third party. i am footing the bill for the first run. there will be no request for payment until items are complete and ready to ship, period! and my items will ship within 24 hours of receiving cleared payment.

does this clarify my position?

whats the kit?

does this clarify my position?

It doesn't clarify what (if anything) you possibly have to do with Howes' undelivered commissions, and what some of us are trying to do to encourage progress.

Do you have heads on order, and if so which ones?

Howes' has ~$150 of mine. At this point, I want my money! I don't want the house sculpt that he rushed and did a half-assed job! Looks nothing like his first finished pre-cast. I know that some people are out of line in this thread and I don't condone any of the personal insults directed at Chris. However, the lack of communication and the refusal to come back to this board is unacceptable. Chris took peoples money and he either needs to refund them or produce the promised products.

I paid for the Maximus commission back in November and the House head in December and have yet to receive anything. His constant lies about updates and shipping are tiring. And before anybody brings up the argument about Chris warning about delays, he never once mentioned anything when I signed up for these commissions. He started warning about delays when he started taken on newer commissions. But for the old ones, he said about 3-4 months max. Just go into the threads and read through them. I am not exaggerating.

i DO NOT have any heads on order, just one figure left that i paid for in may of 2008.

i have the bale, the 2 jokers, and the early spock.

i want the battle damaged cameron, but had decided not to buy until it was ready to ship.

the commisions were of interest to me, because some were being done, others were being planned, and i was waiting on my pieces, which were already sculpted, that was my INTEREST.

i can only re-interate, the only counter point i made was 18 months, search my name, i have not argued any VALID point

Sadly in this day of age with most business, talk is cheap. You have to prove yourself worthy in the marketplace, with trust and with reliability etc.

What stops the next person posting saying something similar? anybody could post they have regular 40 clients.

Besides this seems to be steering away from Howes's serious issues.

not sure what you mean? if you think i made made a statement intended to sucker in new clients, it was not. my contract clients are people i have worked with in the past, i am not trying to solicite any buisness here, i do mechanical design, dont think it factors into 1/6 scale action figures. i was merely trying to clarify that i understand the meaning of good buisness practices.

as far as my pending kit, it would not be advertised for sale here anyway, doesnt really fall into the theme of this forum.

whats the kit?

i also have some talks going on for an officail "micro" licesne to produce figures from a 4 season uk sci-fi show in the works. not looking to good, but if it goes through, there would be 99 of each figure produced, dependent on finding a quality sculptor i can afford.

Not to accuse anyone but l am this odd feelin we have seen this newbie before. The 1/6 star trek fig (statue I assume), comments that are only in this forum, new member, claims that his product even though it is a custom kit doesn't relate relate to the custom forums.

Didn't somebody else before said tht they didnt collect 1/6 heads yet they post to attack Howes?

well perhaps i should have responded in an pm, as the kit stuff really doesnt belong in this thread, or forum.

i do have some 1/6 heads, with the intent of scratch building or kit bashing the bodies.

didnt intend to attack anyone, not really sure i did.

i have total lack of anonimity, my user name is my name, on all the boards i subscribe to, my email, and ebay.

how have you seen this newbie before if your account is only a few months old?

the 18 month issue is the ONLY counterpoint i offered;

it was meant to be constructive input to the thread.

I said "18 months" earlier today as an estimate based on poor memory recall. When the ^^^^ hit the fan a month or 2 ago I remember reading posts that said I waited such and such time and I did the math and calculated it to being 3 or 4 months longer than what I already waited.

So today, as I admit, owing to a)I'm an idiot and can't add and b)my anger, I exaggerated.

When "18 months" was questioned, I went back and did the number crunching again. I immediately retracted and apologized.

So that said and apology offered, I hope we can move past the whole "18 months" sticking point.

and by no means was i trying to point you out, as i really treid to stay out of this whole conversation because of a lack of vested interest specifically in custom commissions. but i was one, like captdan, who has had money in howes projects since may of 2008, and i know WHEN he started selling items to the GP, i only meant to clarify.

with that being said, i wouls also offer my apologies to any who were offended by any statement i have made.

You HAVE howes Spock? I thought he only got as far as a WIP version of Kirk?

Why. many folks here have stautues in their collections and Kits aren't that far off. And, if its 1:6 it may be of interest to some. What character is it? Any WIP pix?

What show might that be? There are a number of folks that like the BBC sci-fi.

to clarify, i did not buy any of the howes heads, he sent them to me, complimentary for my patience.
the spock was done before he ever came here doing customs, its not the one from the custom group, billed as 1/6, it is a little large, i do believe it was sold on ebay long before any of this came around.

the st figure is a jem hadar soldier, it is not a commision, it is someone elses conception and work, i have no input whatsoever, but lack of interest in the piece is almost a guarantte it wont get produced, and because i want one on my shelf, i am getting involved. i will not profit from the venture, all i want is my invested capitol and one figure for me, which i will buy my figure at full price, the PROFITS are going to the scultor and casters.

did not want to specifically metion the show, dont want no voodoo jinx bad karma vibve screwing up the process, but i have had contact with the creator and one of the production companies involved, its a go for creator, but lagging the support, as of yet, from production company. for some reason, 100 seems to be a magic quantity, hence the 99 pieces max. i could produce as garage kit without endorsement and hope for the best, but wanted my first commision to be legite.

i do have one other 1/6 head, actually bought from diver4 on ebay, before i knew about recasters, a 7 of 9 drone, after a little research, i discovered it is a recast of a barbie head, apparently mattel did during the voyager series, although i could not find any pics of one.

He did WIP versions of Kirk and Bones. But I believe he had an old Spock sculpt on his site, and that may be what he's talking about.
I forgot about that one. Surprised he didn't try selling it as the commissioned one.

WOW!! And how long were you waiting?

I don't recall any Mattel Voyager pieces.

I don't recall any Mattel Voyager pieces.

i can find mention of borg barbie on yahoo search, but nothing with pics, could been proto, or coulda been a custom, not sure, but when i got the head, it was obviously barbie-eske, overdone in height, but thin in width, major dome on it, really thought about kit bashing a barbie figure to over exaggerated appendages and go with some kind of cartoon type effect, not real sure, still setting in bubble wrap waiting for me to decide.
