Hopefully the proof that heads (Summer and House) are going out will cool the "Howes is ripping people off" rhetoric.

Just something to think about, and another reason why some of us would much rather give Howes the extra time to finish up the projects instead of threatening law enforcement involvement or demanding refunds.

Funny how it wasn’t until he was “threatened with the law” that the heads started to flow a little bit more freely.

If Howes is forced to issue refunds or is further distracted from getting the work done, then what the heck are we supposed to do with our headless bodies? Know what I mean?

You'd buy from a reputable person that really is a professional and wouldn't bluff their way across the job sending people goods that are somewhat unfinished or incomplete. Not only that would have the stuff made without stumping up any money before hand.

• Sculptor ships.
  
• The only waiting is from destination A to B.
  
• Both people are happy.

i received response from Chris that my item will be shipped soon. I told him I would keep you all informed on the result. As much as I wish the threats were not needed, I really think they were the trigger to getting results.

I decided to write him last night. As someone who is a designer, also an occasional custom item seller, and being the same age as him, I figured we have some things in common. I offered to help him get this organized and to facilitate communications, but I haven't heard anything at all so far. I would really like to see this resolved positively so he preserves his name, and everyone gets their product.

Agreed, this is exactly how it should be done. Commissions that dont play out this way always have ended badly for me personally

Im still hoping that he will deliver. Even though I will never like, understand nor respect how he sold items we comissioned here on ebay before we got them. I really hope he pulls through for us and we dont continue to get the shaft.

Another thing to consider for people who do NOT have orders with Howes: Not only do we have the money we paid for our head and/or painting orders, but we have the money that we've already invested in the bodies, clothes, parts, etc, that these heads will go on top of!

I'll presume you're reffering to me as you guys seem to have the biggest problem with my input so:
Ok, so it changes from the "howes is ripping people off" rhetoric to the "howes is trying to save is butt" rhetoric.
You've outfitted your figure already? Great. And luckily House is one of those sculpts that seems to be getting multible treatments. I started assembling my Aliens Gormans body when the commission first came up. He's an integral part of the Aliens characters. So, I guess if you're using the I prepared my figure for howes head argument, then I now do have $ invested. The Gormans thread started earlier than the House thread and if you check you'll see my name on the list on interested parties. Now while you might have to go elsewhere for a Gregory House, there ARE alternatives where for Gormans there are not (yet).

There's no evidence that he wasn't sending heads out, just that those who received them weren't Freaks members who posted about it.

It's pretty clear he didn't send these out in the correct order, but that's a far cry from not sending any out at all. And this stuff doesn't get made overnight. I think it's pretty safe to say he had to be working on these on and off as he said he was. Why would he have a stockpile of heads and just sit on them waiting to be threatened by lawsuits? It makes no sense.

And by the way, for those interested, here's something I received in an e-mail yesterday:

"I'm sending a few each a day most days, so quite a few are getting out. Within a couple or 3 weeks I believe I'll have all House and bald Summer and River Tam heads out. As soon as I can I'll have some update photos."

You’ve got to be kidding.

Not in the slightest. Why, are you planning on sculpting a new House portrait? In the highly hypothetical situation that I can't get a Howes head, please direct me to where I can get one of similar quality for the same low price so that my investment in my House custom body/outfit wouldn't be wasted.

I only started building my House body/outfit AFTER I had paid Howes for the sculpt.

That happened to me on another thread. The site went down for a lot of hours, and apparently those of us that tried to post multiple times and didn't think we posted at all in fact DID post. You can delete the extras!
