This is my new thread about this incredible headsculpt that Les Walker made for me. In this thread I'll be showing everyone pictures of it on my "Classic Superman" DC Direct body. The head is a HUGE improvement over the factory head. It has been a childhood dream of mine to have a Christopher Reeve Superman 12" figure...and finallly....now I do! Thanks for everything Les! You are the BEST in my humble opinion! I'm eternally grateful to you for your masterful work on this head. :bow This figure is the single figure I've always wanted to have! Enjoy the pictures everyone! I know I am enjoying every minute of owning this important and very special figure. Christopher Reeve was, and still IS the best Superman to me. :D

The sculpt looks great, but that body is just to large, and the neck is too long. I think it would look better if you tried it on a HT Superman body.

Dude that neck is really distracting - remember that DC comics character with the shades who could stretch like Mr. Fantastic? I think it was Plastic Man? I can't help but think of him when I see that neck. Anyway great head though.

Well, the DC Direct body will have to do for right now. I'll try to get a Hot Toys Superman body someday soon. I tried to put the head on a HT Hudson ALIENS marine body...and it was just too small. So, hopefully the HT Superman body will work much better. Anyone see a loose one out there somewhere online? Please let me know. Thanks! :D

Thanks for the eBay links guys. I'll see what I can about getting the body. I'm just hoping that the Classic Superman outfit will fit on the HT Superman Returns body. Because I know it doesn't fit on a HT Hudson for sure!

Pretty sure Hudson and Superman are on the same body, if it didnt fit Hudson, I dont see it fitting the Superman body, or any Hot Toys body. The Superman body you currently have it one is much larger than any of the 1/6 body out there.

You could possibly get someone to re tailor the suit to fit a 1/6 figure body.

Yeah, well if that is true that the HT Superman and Hudson are the same body, then you're right. The suit for the DC Direct Superman fits a much bigger 13" body that they made for it. Maybe I can trim down the neck on the DC Direct body?

Anyone know how I can do that. That is the only part that bugs me is the neck. I know it is just too long, but I am using what I have on a very limited budget. Any help guys in how, or if I can trim down the neck would really help me out! Thanks! :D

I have been working on a chris reeve superman custom for awhile now and the mego 12.5 inch body seemed to fit the costume the best out of all the figures I tried (and I have tried almost every sixth scale figure I know of.) It is a little bulkier than the newer figures, but the poseability isn't as good.

As for boots, Classic Plastick sells Repro Action Man Superman boots that work perfectly. Those DC direct boots are never going to work on a true sixth scale figure (unless your Superman wears knee-high boots!) From there, it is simply a matter of tightening the belt and hemming up the cape so that it doesn't drag the floor.

Agreed. I used the Mego 12 1/2" er a lot.
I recommend it Mike. If you replace the body that is.

Although, I emailed you an idea on how to make the DVD body work. You are kind of committed now, as we destroyed the head getting that gasket out. Let's see if we can't make it work better for you.
Email me when you get the chance.

Hey Les. I just finished e-mailing you tonight. I do have the old Mego Superman, but kinda want to keep him as he is for my old "nostalgic" reasons. I may be able to find the Mego 12.5" body online...maybe eBay or some online retailer? Let me know guys if you found one online and where you found it. Thanks. So let's work together to get the DCD Superman body's neck shorter. I'm going to sand down those muscles lines on it later tonight. Mail me back when you can Les. Thanks again for all of your help. I think we can make this work with the DCD body.

Anyone out there know where I can get some smaller 1:6 scale hands for this DC Direct "Classic Superman" I'm using for the Reeve Superman? I agree with Les that smaller hands will help it out too. If you know where to find some that will fit the DCD Superman wrists joints...please let me know! Thanks! :D

After Les Walker's generous offer to help me once again...I'm sending the entire figure to him so he can do the alterations on the body on it for me. Thanks again Les! I'll mail him to you soon! :D

readapting the head to a new body is easy. It would be alot easier to adapt the head to a hot toys body. perhaps the superman one, then swap over the DCD belt. just my opinion.
