Just ripped up my final pack before I go to bed! I have been taking Chantix and I hope it helps. I will look for the Freaks for support. We will see!

Good Luck!! My dad's stopped for about 4-5 months now I do believe. He used that stuff and it really helped him.

GOOD LUCK!!!! I smoked for about 10 years then quit for 2 then smoked again for another 2 and quit again....it's been about 2 weeks....I just went cold turkey....it's not too bad....until I see people smoking in movies or on tv and then I really want one.....Let me know how it goes with you!!! They say if you can make it past 21 or 23 days then you have broken the cycle or something like that.....

Thank god I was never tempted to start smoking. Good luck. In college I took a psychobiological aspects of drugs course and the professor said that any type of drug that was smoked is usually the most addicting, also the fastest acting. :lecture

Well, it is a goal I set for myself at the first of the year... don't know if I will make it, but I will give it my best.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

I'm cutting back gradually... 30 plus year addiction!

All my smoking buddies are abandoning me!!! :monkey2 To tell the truth, I've also been in the cutback mode for a while. Have tried cold turkey 3 times and it just made me .... well....let's just say very unhappy with EVERYthing. So, have been revisiting the method that provided less stress for those around me while I was battling the nic-monster.

Don't worry Rumi, we can go outside the convention center and put on a stop-smoking patch! It will feel just like old times! :rotfl

I was in Blythe Spirit, a Nole Coward play, a few years ago. Dear Nole was a chain smoker and so were all of his actor friends, so he wrote enormous amounts of smoking into his plays, and they simply can't be performed correctly without smoking.

I must have smoked about eight cigarettes for every performace. And the cigarette cases they bought were to small for the ciggys, so they proceeded to cut off the filters!!!

Needless to say, I was much relieved when it was all over and I somehow managed to avoid becoming addicted. But the whole time I was in the show, my wife wouldn't let me near her until I bathed, brushed, and gargled. And even then, she said I smelt distinctly of disgusting cigarette smoke.
