Good luck Keith. Cigs are so expensive these days - just think of all the money you will save. :)

Thanks Jen! That's a big part of it. $5.50 to $5.75 a day in my area. Some pay more in surrounding areas.

This really does suck though having to feel like this all over again. I don't want to put myself through this a 3rd time.

Just fall back on your other addiction and puff a meat pole every time you wanna puff a cig.

Wow - cigs are $9-$10 here. :horror

Well once you quit - if you ever are tempted - just remember how crappy you feel now - or think of a smelly ashtray and hopefully you will never start up again. :duff

My mate has just started smoking cigs at 17 and it's frustrating see him getting slowly addicted and he ( and myself too stuck in the car with him smoking to often ) has devolped a chesty cough. It's gone from social smoking ( which is retarded imo ) to not being able to go a day without one.
I'm just curious as to know at what age did most of you start smoking ?.

I think I have more friends around my age who smoke cigs than don't.

15 I believe for me.

I've never smoked, but both my brothers started in their mid-teens and my father started at 14. My father had acupuncture and never smoked again. 10 years later he developed mesothelioma. :(

I was 18. Now I'm 36. Sunday, I'm going to visit my father's grave, and then I'm done.

I also wanted to mention that I have a friend who was taking Chantix and almost jumped off a bridge the other night.

Is that common?

I took it once and it worked without issue. I tried taking it last February a second time and I felt like I wanted to punch someone out. So I stopped taking it. It blocks the receptors in you're brain that cause happiness. So if you have mental issues or are under a lot of stress it's not a good idea to take it. People have killed themselves while taking it. So yes it's serious business.

Moonie, you should report what happened to you to the company. I think the stuff should be pulled off the market!

The thing is ween I was warned by my doctor both times I took it. Plus they have warnings all over the packaging. So I can't fault them. Plus I quit for 2 years by taking it.

I'm convinced it works. You just better be in a good place mentally if you are going to try it. I picked a horrible time to quit when I took it the second time. Honestly it was my fault I believe for trying it when I knew I was already stressed.

The father smoked while I was growing up. One day he just decided to quit. He was smoking 3 packs a day. I remember for his 1 year anniversary my mother baked him a cake to celebrate his smoke free days. But, on a sad note my brother and I started up smoking not to shortly after. :(

I started smoking at an age of 16 and now I am 33. I have tried to quit before by trying the E-Cigarette and was doing fairly well. At least I thought? I started to be very moody and it is pretty bad when your mother and father offers to buy you a pack of cigarettes. :slap :lol

Well, I will quit someday. But, maybe it is not my time to do so. A carton of cigarettes here still cost around 27 dollars. Where the E-Cigarette was costing me 20 dollars. I can make a carton of cigarettes last me for 2 weeks. So, I don't think I am a heavy smoker and I never was. One day I will quit, one day.

I'd be too scared to take it then. Have a bad day and you're off your nut! :panic:
