A post from a member on He-man.org. I dont have access to the picture taken though

I work at a competing toy company and was dressing my booth for NY Comicon. Low and behold I passed my mattels booth. There behind a pane of glass was "Masters of the Universe Classics King Grayskull"! I have a picture taken with my camera phone but am sure pictures will be up by tommorow if I cannot post. The box is about 12" by 8". It is fashioned to look like Castle Grayskull and has the old retro font saying Masters of the Universe with the word Classics underneath it in matching font. Below that is a Silver or Gold Embossed logo of King Grayskull. It is a clamshell type package where you would have to open it to see the figure..kind of like a book or like a sideshow toys figure. It definitely is a collectors line and looks to be either sold via internet club/direct mail/or possibly select retailers. The price point using my toy background will be between 19.99 and 29.99 per figure. Now let me see if I can send this bad boy...if anyone has an email I can always email it from my camera phone..Ill cheack back in an hour to see if there is a response! Thank Goodness for New Mattel He-Man Toys! Honestly it is all I could have ever hoped for packaging wise..think the 2001 collectors figure taken to the next level!

This sounds very nice indeed!

Here you go.:)

4 Horsemen have already unofficaly confirmed that there is a new line. :D

Finally, before returning to their own area of the New York Comic Con, the Four Horsemen will be attending another panel with Mattel from 2:00pm to 3:00pm which will reveal future plans for all things Masters of the Universe related! If you thought He-Man and the gang were dead and gone, think again! It’s a new direction for Masters of the Universe, and you’ve got to be there to get the first insiders’ look!

Well, I know I will be buying those!! Saturday we should see pics!

Seems that the classics will be coming in Fall of 2008. But before that I guess this will be a con exclusive:

he new MOTU toy line that was announced at SDCC last year will be independent of the movie and any possible new cartoon. The line is called Masters of the Universe Classics. The first wave will be released in the Fall of 2008. No specifics were mentioned as to the character assortment of that first wave. It would be hard to imagine a He-Man line without He-Man, though.

Before that line actually hits retail, there will be a figure available as an exclusive for the San Diego Comic Con this summer. That figure is . . King Grayskull. There will also be a variant of Grayskull as a statue, the form Prince Adam first saw him in.

The entire He-Man universe is open to character selection with a few exceptions. The only figures Mattel can't produce are any that were original and exclusive to the Filmation cartoon. As long as a Filmation created character was also used in some other medium, Mattel has the rights to make a new figure from it. Let Orko fans rejoice.

This new line is aimed at collectors, though it will have wide distribution. There are no action features. There are no plans at this point for vehicles or playsets. Those would depend on fan response. Since there is no movie or TV show support to draw attention to the line, it will be completely fan driven. Where it goes depends on retail sales.

hopefully I can get the KING GREYSKULL online somewhere as is gonna be a SDCC Exlusive!

No, that would mean they are just action figures... but that there will be no buttons or switches (to fire rockets or for punching action) on the figures that would limit the look or articulation of the figures. This is a good thing for collectors as action features a lot of times muck-up what would otherwise be a cool looking figure.

Good to see He-Man making it back on the scene, those mini-statues were sweet, but action figures are the where his roots are at! :rock

here's a cleaner pic:

Unbelievable. WOW. This is a figure I have wanted since the episode giving the origin of He-Man's powers came out back in 2003. This figure looks incredible and appearance is very similar to the Four Horsemen figure they showed to Mattel last year. He-Man is back and I couldn't be happier.

so now will any board members here help us get a king greyskull? ;)

Yeah, I'm gonna need help on that one as well :rock

Hopefully this will be something you can order as a non-attendee.

Mattel doesn't have that kind of system set up yet, so don't count on it.

I'm going to SDCC and have no interest in this figure, so I may be able to help. I'm not going to take ANY requests though since I have no idea what the situation will be like or if I can even get one.
