Hey guys... I had a buyer interested in my clean endo bust and he was worried about it being simply a cleaned up combat version. I assure him that mine is original (I ordered both the clean and combat versions direct from sideshow) and I offer to take a pic of the bottom of the bust. Well, I flip it over and low and behold, BOTH versions say "Combat Version". What the hell?! Is this a common issue with the clean busts, could those of you that have this check yours and let me know?

What's worse is that this person contacted Sideshow to ask them if this was a production error and the Sideshow rep wrote back that I probably had a combat version that I had cleaned up and was trying to sell.

And yes mine also has the faux rainbow shine effect etc.. like I said, mine came direct from Sideshow.

Can you guys check yours for me?

Thanks!
Dan

Sorry, couldn't resist.:angelsmil

I have both versions too and my CLEAN SS ENDOBUST does NOT say COMBAT on the bottom anywhere. I don't know what to tell you. What does the BOX say that your clean bust came with?

I don't have the boxes anymore, but as far as I know, both busts shipped in the same box... both had the combat version as the photo on the box or something. Unfortunately I lost all my boxes when my storage unit was flooded, so any of my boxes for items I purchased a year ago or older are toast.

Well this is bull????... Can't wait to see what Sideshow says about this one.

Hey. I own both busts and can also confirm that it does not say combat at the bottom of the chrome. I have seen your pics though and confirm your clean bust is in fact real. Check for the blue nut on the back. That should confi that it is real. Goodluck with the sale

talk about a BOO-BOO, on Sideshow's part.

sadly this mistake will prob cost you $500 (clean selling for $1000 - combat selling for $500)

WhAT A NIGHTMARE...sorry bro...hope they can offer some sort of help/resolution

Well before I sell it I will get confirmation that this is an error on their part... no way I am going to get lowballed on this if Sideshow pooched it. But this is lame... going to make a video of it too, will be posting this on YouTube shortly.

I don't think thats possible, didn't the clean ones sell out before they started selling the combat versions?

So why would they have even had combat bases when they weren't making combat skulls yet. Somethings fishy.

Well that's why I think it's because mine had to be replaced... check this out:

My replacement took a month or two to get it, which was around the same time the Combat Editions were shipping.

The more I look in to this, the more furious I am getting.

Edit - Btw, they both went up for pre-order at the same time.

i know it says Combat, but anyone with 1/2 a brain will look at the RAINBOW effect and know it's real.

are you selling to someone on the forum, or another forum for that matter?

Sounds like Sideshow screwed you when you got a replacement. Maybe they just packed a combat vers. that hasn't been sprayed for combat damage yet and sent it to you. That sucks.

Oh the potential buyer is being good about it, they are just cautious. I am not sure if they are a member here or not, they contacted me through my site where the sale is posted. As of now I am still looking for someone to buy both my Combat version and Clean one. Maybe I should just scrape off "Combat Edition" with a razor blade or something?

The Combat editions don't have the rainbow effect painted on them, so you can tell if it's a combat edition that has been cleaned up... they don't have that effect on them. And the effect does show up on camera, you can see it here:

Funny that I've seen that pic like a million times but this is the first time I've noticed. That's pretty awesome. Hope your sale goes well Faken.

Yea its a cool effect, but not everybody's cup of tea. Thats a reason why i think people are spending close to $700 for "cleaned" combats :lol

I like the effect personally, and it nowhere near as "in your face" as on the prototype... I'm looking at mine and I don't even see any yellow in it... just the blue and red tones.
