Actually, I apologize iCruise. It was MaulFan. Found the post, you're right, it wasn't you. :lol MF doesn't have any kids so he's incapable of comprehending the emotion of a pose like that:

Yeah, I didn't think I said that. :duh

I actually kind of like the way they portrayed Jabba as a doting father in the Clone Wars movie. It's silly but also kind of sweet.

It'll be neat to get more mileage out of our Jabba displays by swapping out between CW and ROTJ. Hopefully, SS will give us the figures to make it work.

Here's a question I've wondered about: do you think the TPM Jabba was intended to be so distinct from the ROTJ Jabba? I always figured that they were trying to replicate the ROTJ Jabba in CGI and fell short (although it's better than the one from the Special Editions). But it's true that they ended up creating a separate version of Jabba in terms of sculpt and coloration. Is he supposed to be a "young" Jabba?

I think TPM was the closest effort to replicating Jabba's ROTJ. I'm not sure how much effort was actually put into the pre-Jedi Jabba look. The tail thing to fit him into ANH I get, but the man ****s they gave him don't look good, he has rolls in Jedi but not tow distinct pectoral formations like the CGI renditions. They also made his face pretty symetrical where his Jedi look is pretty asymetrical, but all in all, I think the TPM look is a good effort at young Jabba, had they used that in the ANH scene I think it'd look nice, though I know many wish the scene was just left out. I'm just not a huge fan of either ANH CGI Jabba, the first was really weak and for some reason, the second one was also, even though TPM came in between and looked good.

I agree with you, actually. I think they completely fubared Jabba in CGI, unable to match him completely between ROTJ, ANH and TPM. I think what adds to this hypothesis is how much closer the TPM Jabba looked to the ROTJ one than the ANH version.

I'd imagine that by the time the sextet hits BluRay, we'll not only see a completely digital Yoda (hopefully just in the PT :google), but I think they'll clean up Jabba as well as candy-coat the Stormtroopers.

The DVD ANH Jabba was pretty aweful. He definitely had more texture to him than the Special Edition version but the coloring felt off. To me the puppets generally look more "real" than the CGI stuff, especially Jabba.

I'm hoping his CGI replacement in TPM is merely because of the looks of TPM Yoda, which was a bit of a swing and a miss, they went too young with him compared to where he was at by AOTC, they aged him 200 years younger where there's only about 10 years between films between films, I welcome that, but PT Yoda needs no work.

Watching the most recent CW, I kinda wish, regardless of Rota coming with Anakin, he came with that backpack in both editions, it seems to be getting fairly frequent use in the series and it's a pretty neat looking accessory.

Then you'll just have to pick up the Ex Ahsoka when she hits, now won't you? :lol

Possibly, depends on what I think about how she turns out, what else I've got on order, and if she includes the pack and if the straps are adjustable. Ideally, they would be so you can use it with Anakin or her, but you never know and one made to fit a female body will not work on Anakin.

With their current home runs, I have little faith in it being a turd.

I don't think it'll be a turd, but where it'll be somewhat interpretive, an no existing human to base it on, jury's out on how I'll feel about what they do. Asajj wasn't a lock until seeing it.

ok i have to ask. you guys think this going to be hard to get later in the future. really thinking about skipping for now

i like the "humanized" look. helps it fit in with the other figures. i am also ready for this figure like right now. it's Q1 sideshow, so where is he.:huh

I'm eager for this one too, especially since I don't have to sweat out paying for him since the whole thing's on RPs. It'll be a fun and cool looking figure. Plus he's the first figure I'll be getting on the taller Pro.
