Hope that's real. You can definatly see claw marks on the face of the Statue of Liberty in the clip. I really can't wait to see this flick, AND to see how Slusho! fits into all this.

Its a rehash only in so far that Godzilla inspired JJ to do the movie and NYC gets trashed. Shooting style is different, story line will probably differ greatly and then there is how Slusho! ties into it all.

I like the would-be documentary style of it.
What I don't understand is how these movies still get an audience since that kind of citywide panic has been a reality on you know what day. And staged in NYC of all places. Feels somewhat misplaced.

Couple reasons why. 1. New York is THE most iconic American city. 2, there is quite the history of destroying NY in one way or another and 3, as long as there are no references to a possible realistic attack then people wont usually see direct 9/11 references. While you may see monsters, aliens or mother nature destroy the city I bet you'll be hard pressed to see alot of movies like Peacemaker that ends with the retrieval of a nuke bomb in NYC.

Rob, the main character in the movie, updated his Myspace page saying he has been thinking of leaving NYC, and apparently had a job interview a few days ago. It will be interesting to see what they write on their Myspace pages before the movie comes out in 16 days.
