just compare it to the efx. it has a better paint job. But I do realise there is a BIg price difference. For something larger, better looking and with similar details there's the Kotobukiya x-wing. It comes at a pretty good price theses days. Saw one for $140 on Ebay. Or get a Finemolds 1/48 scale kit and pay someoene to paint it for you using pictures found at therpf.com

I mean to each their own, but when Code 3 released their Falcon, It was so inacurate wor such an expensive piece. Code 3 had this reputaion for making accurate4 die cast Firetrucks, but they could'nt do justice to the Falcon? The x-wing isn't any better. Their Slave 1 isn't bad. They actually did a very good job on the Gunship and the AT-st but by price comparison, it always seemed high priced. It falls under If it's an expensive SW item it MUST be worth it.

Of course I don't own any of the code 3 stuff and My opinion is no better than anyone elses. I just like stuff I blow money on to be as accurate as possible, that why I pay for the SS stuff. If one likes the Code 3 stuff, then nock yourself out. It just amazes me I come to this site because fans here REALLY scrutinize theses figures to the most minute details, but don't use the same scrutiny on other collectibles.

Well I think ppl might be more critical of figures cos they appear for a longer period on screen and do not move as fast relative to vehicles.

The review on rebel scum seemed to paint the code 3 x-wing in quite a positive light.

I considered both the koto x-wing and the efx but decided to go with the code 3 becos of the option of opening and closing the s-foils which the koto couldn't.

The option of deploying landing gear and an opening cockpit with ladder were just icing on the cake.


Now just have to find a scaled pilot to put inside.

None of the Code 3 items are studio scale, but still are great looking in a collection, especially if you manage to get them at a good price. eFX is a studio scale it is way larger and more expensive. The Kotobukiya version is really nice too, it is made of PVC and comes with a very elaborate base.

I still miss Code 3, hopefully eFX will come back with their new Precision Cast line, but seems it will take a long time before eFX releases their first item in this line, which is Millennium Falcon...

I've learned the guys at Rebelscum really don't know what they are talking about. Yes the guys running it have enough liquid finances to buy all this stuff, but they don't take the time to research it.

As for a DV Tie, There was a guy near me that used to sell stuff on ebay for me, and used to have a Falcon and DV TIE. I can try and contact him and see if he still has it for sale.

as the owner of every star wars code 3 vehicle (except the gunship) I can say they are certainly not worth anything near their msrp. But, for around $200 (maybe $300 for the xwing) they are an exceptional deal and well worth it.

Your best bet is to read up on the RPF forums for the nitty gritty on accuracy.

The Code3 ships were released in the early parts of last decade, so all reviews from that time should be expected to sound giddy. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. It's a nice piece.

The eFX X-Wing is in a totally different league, though. You should check out FineMolds' 1:48 scale or Koto's 1:35 scale X-Wing.

Ignorance is bliss....... If you like the way it is then why look into flaws that you are not aware of especially since you already bought it Ones you know the flaws no matter how minor, it's over and no going back. Instead of admiring the piece in it's entirety you tend to focus on the flaws instead which in most cases is blown out of proportion.

I was perfectly happy with my Hot Toys The Dark Knight Batman until I came here and saw it being torn into pieces

I agree with Geil. It's best not to know what may not be accurate. Just buy the pieces you like and enjoy them.

I wouldn't be able to tell you what is inaccurate with these things (although I'm sure the list is extensive). To be honest, I always find it funny to discuss "accuracy" for items that never existed in the real world...and yes, I know they were "real" in the films...to each his own I guess.

the code 3 xwing is a marvelous piece that I am proud to own. the quality in craftmanship is second to none. of course the efx version blows it out of the water, but it is a completely unfair comparison...it is like saying a bimmer sucks next to a ferrari.

After seeing yours and another eFX one I want to display my Koto like that too But the Koto kit does not come with a stand (I think not, have to check tonight?) so need to rig something together and make a new case o allow it to be more "mid" air
